Indeed, the internet is a metaphor for the writing process itself. It is an artificial creation meant to provide a realization of writing and a concept of a holistic literacy which significations lie in the mindscape of visualizations. Digital tools give us perspectives that can alter the way we think about textuality. It creates a canvas for the juxtapositions of associations that create meaning rather than try to represent abstract and arbitrary notions of reality. But, beyond all the righteous rhetoric of theoretical representations, computing can free us to view composition as a montage of possibilities |
