| In this project, we were supposed to take a site within the Art Studio building and create an object for that site. I chose the top landing of a set of stairs from the first floor to the second floor. I created an overhang or a gateway that was supposed to act as a narrative as you witnessed it from the bottom of the stairs to the top. It was made of wood, stain, L-brackets and other metal joints, plexiglass and mealable wire. It's creation was made to change the object as one saw it, not to change the viewer. It was also meant to create some kind of inbalance and ricketyness that made the audience weary of it stability and safety. |
