LORDS OF HOWLING
:::::1::::the Lords began with Chris Culhane handing Anne a tape at Jack
Wright's improvisers Camp-out. This was a while back--& that tape was Chris
alone & that was the Lords of Howling. Chris lived in Denver at the time & we
went there one early Denver night & tried to play his songs. We stayed there
about a week  & Peter never showed up for one reason or another & we had fun
throwing Cella's diapers out of a 5th story window into a dumpster down below &
we took a long walk in the snow. The playing part was pretty rusty for a while
because it was after a long season of just scratching & hibernating & banging
on things. The idea of a song seemed so beautiful & intimidating & difficult.
But that  was the first & probably only idea that mattered. Maybe there was the
idea of friends just being together. We eventually ended up at the barn &
started making tapes on Kattl's  8-track machine & Peter showed up & it was
pretty  peaceful & we made a tape (01:aloha bro).
