| March 26, 2003 Newsletter Five things you need to know about creating a sexy atmosphere in the bedroom: 1. Low lighting. If you can only do one thing, get some candles. Candlelight illuminates the proceedings without casting a harsh, critical light on dust bunnies or dirty laundry and will turn even the worst room into an inviting love cave. 2. Good smells. Kill two birds with one stone and get scented candles. Ix-nay on the pine-scented candles. Go to your local drugstore or health food store and get some relaxing aromatherapy candles or simply add a drop or two of an essential oil like lavender to a regular candle. 3. Bathroom makeover. Do yourself a favor, ladies: Get the big fuzzy slippers into the closet, the mud-pack off the counter and the underwear off the shower rail. Guys, get the seat down on the toilet, and make sure you have toilet paper, soap and clean towels. 4. Music. Something soulful and romantic -- not too loud, but loud enough to wrap the two of you in a cocoon of tune. 5. Refreshments. It's a nice touch to be able to offer your guest a glass of something during the festivities. Wine, bubbly or even a soda in a tall glass will help create an atmosphere of mutual celebration.
