Five reasons why your "couple friends" are jealous of your single life, but would never dare tell you!
1. You can make all your own decisions. Couples envy singles because they don't have to check in, or negotiate, every teeny tiny decision -- including what to eat for dinner -- with another person. Compromise is not in the singles dictionary.
2. You can do what you want, when. You don't have to see her/his friends every Friday night because that's what they've always done. Okay, so they're not that bad as friends go, but every Friday night? Being single means you choose who you hang with 100% of the time.
3. You can spend all your money on yourself. Steady partners expect you to give them things. You know, those little tokens of affection that spell romance but can put a crimp in your cash flow faster than you can say Holy Mastercard. When you're single, you can splurge all you want on the most important person in your life -- you!
4. You can indulge your nasty little habits. Okay, so maybe you're not the neatest person in the world. But if you're part of a couple it can be a big problem. In fact, a partner's "little habits" -- like leaving the top off the toothpaste and hair in the sink -- may seem endearing at first but will eventually drive you crazy. Being single means you can let it all hang out and no one's gonna start bugging.
5. You can flirt all you want. Ever notice how couples watch each other all the time at a party? They're making sure the Flirt Factor isn't coming into play. If it does, there's sure to be big trouble. When you're single, you can try out great new pickup lines with as many people as you want. And maybe even take them home! (As long as your place isn't a total trash-heap, that is!)
