Mr. Matt Rogers

Executive Director

Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater

3550 Cellar Door Way

Virginia Beach, Virginia  23456

Dear Mr. Rogers:

Thank you again for your quick response to my phone call requesting an update on making the lawn seating accessible at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater, you stated that you have been working with vendors to assess how to make it accessible but that change would not happen for another year.

The Transition Advocacy Team met on Friday, March 19, 2004.  I updated them on our conversation and as a result of the Team’s discussion, we would like to request a timeline in writing.  The letter from you would describe all the steps the Virginia Beach Amphitheater will face to make the lawn seating accessible with time frames for each step and a projected completion date.

The Team’s members expressed a variety of feelings of disappointment and frustration that we will not be able to sit on the lawn with everyone else for yet another year for only the reason of having a physical disability.  The Team stands strong in our continued desire to work with the Amphitheater to make the lawn seating accessible, yet we do not want this to drag on endlessly.  The Team appreciates your cooperation and keeping in contact with us, and look forward to a continued partnership.  We look forward to receiving your timeline.  The timeline will be presented to the Team at our next meeting on April 9, 2004.

Thank you, we remain dedicated to creating accessibility and equal access for visitors to the Virginia Beach Amphitheater.

 Sincerely,

Kathryn Gage
