This band's unique take on the punk rock styles of today has brought them far, and leads them into a bright future. The kids at their shows can perhaps relate to when singer Nick sings that "I've got something to say." The songs deal with girls, life, and all the stuff in between. "The Subaru Song" is a light-hearted ballad about the speaker's first car. When he bought a "huuuuuuge Chevrolet," we can all relate.

As Big Dumb Nick was ready to leave for college, he was eager to pen new songs. As the band slowly learned them, the new material took shape and was so good that the band couldn't wait to play the new songs in front of the entire world! Notable was "Every Day," a thoughtful song about relationships. "I'm learning more about you / Every day". This new song, along with the tounge-in-cheek Prom King and rocker Graduation Day was paired with an old standard, "Something to Say" as Billy Likes Soda went into Nick's garage with old producer Joe Kasprzyk, the drummer in the band, as well, to record
Oh My God, I Am the Winner. It met with a good response from the band's crowd. Billy Likes Soda seemed to find their niche; people appreciated the musicianship and songwriting.

The band played with favorites the Distorted Penguins on December seventh, but are not ready to rest on their laurels yet. With a suprising sense of songwriting ability they are working on more material, and are happy to add these to classic favorites like "Subaru Song" and "Jump." (After hearing "Jump," Luke from the B-Movie Stuntmen could hardly believe the fun song was a BLS original). Also, they made their out of town debut in Greensburg at the CD Warehouse on January 10, 2003.
You can see exclusive never before seen pics from that show here. Remember, these pics are NO WHERE ELSE! Another important event in the band's life was when they played with the Starting Line at Penn State Behrend in Erie. They literally broke the stage by jumpiing up and down. Very hardcore.
The middle of May, 2003 marked another turning point for the guys in Billy Likes Soda.  They parted ways with drummer Joe Kasprzyk and headed for more shows and recording in the summer of 2003. Spizatch, formerly of Delta Slade fame, joined the band, who later disbanded. What a long and illustrious history of punk Billy Likes Soda provided for the Butler scene!
