We are currently looking for girls to be Mirandas for our performances.
We generally don't get enough money other than to pay for costume rentals and such, so basically the deal is you get free drinks, and most of the time, exposure. Our shows have gotten lots of exposure from independent sources (zines, internet sites) so it is fun as well as rewarding in that you get to hang with not one, not two, but 10 men of different temperement and get drunk and in some pics on the web or in a zine or on this website.. If the band does receive monetary compensation that covers our expenses and there is a surplus, we will divvy up the extra with you. We aren't that cheap.
Mirandas are the LMDC companions and right hand girls. They pour us exotic concoctions from their portable bar and dance for the crowd's (yeah right...more like our own) pleasure.
Their costume is that of one famous Carmen Miranda (thus the name).
We are currently renting the outfits depending on band budget, so if someone knows anything about costume design, or knows a designer who is starting out and would like to get involved pro-bono (hehe) then contact us. We are willing to work with up and coming designers for resume and exposure.
No experience is neccesary...it is all about having a good time.
