News and Notes

The weekend breakdown is here. So let's get to it. First of all, DEvine Intervention is set too hit hard and I'll break that down later. As far as E-Diddy news is conscerned, I'm sure you are all full of that, so I'll leave it out of this weekend's shakedown. Now onto the rumors and newsbites.

-Brian Walker..better known as Snake of old EWA fame, was arrested this weekend in Florida for indescent exposure. The rest is unknown, and thankfully, to us at the moment.

-I know I said no E-Diddy news, but this isn't about E-Diddy. But, apparently, unhappiness is amuck over the situation and he could be only the first to leave. I can only hope the NPWA front office can contain all this, but when egos flare, and there are monster egos there....they flare big.

-Venom tenured his resignation this week as well. Sources say he could be EWA bound, which would only be the obvious choice.

-Maybe I wasn't so far off in my guessing that Boden was main event bound. His victory over Raven was something else. It's still hard to beleive Raven put him over, but it was a real class act, and we shoulda seen it coming as it was a rare non-title match in the New reign of the EWA.

-Speaking of EWA and shakeups...Solley was appointed as a new writer on the show. Actualy, it appears he'll have more power than just being behind angle development. He fills a seat Myers left vacant. We reached Myer's spokesman who gave us this comment, "Gates and Myers are on no bad terms at all. This was a personall reason to leave the fed. Currently he's engaged to Gia Decarlo, who is doing some valet duty in MTT2, and formerely worked for PCXl magazine. He's spending some time with family, and says he doesn't plan on getting back into mainstream wrestling for awhile now."

-Remember the clusterfuck on Malice this week? Well, during that and other attacks on the show, Jack Daneils apparently came up a bit sore. Nothing serious, but that's the suspected reason for the booking of the 4 way. 3 other men, all banged up from recent weeks, but should be able to shoulder each other into a respective match.

-Rumor has it that the EWA staff is considering starting an 8 man European Title tournament, bringing the belt back to life. Even more interesting is the rumor that the slots in the tournament could go to the next eight applicants.

-Anyone else see the doulbe switch with Haven/Kage and Latino Powers in the same ring together? Can't say I told ya so, cuz I never did. But I have my suspiscions now on the guilty party behind the masks.

-Big NYSWF happenings keep being hyped. Collins declares it will make,"All who offended him sorry"...that's a lotta sorry people and a lotta horse shit too...one of the other. Let's see who'll care enuff to tune in.

Neilsen Ratings!

-NPWA pulled in big again this weekend. Sabotage had a 4.3 Down from last week. And Malice was down a bit as well, going to 5.1 Not a big drop, but certainly not something you'd like to see going into Intervention. My guess here is that it's just a one week drop and it'll be straight back up.

-EWA did a 4.6 for WNW. Once again, Raven drew the big qaurter hour ratings with his upset lose to Boden. Truly a great match.

-NYSWF...sagging still....but steady. 2.0. Up from last week, but that's mostly due to controversy and propaganda. The 2.0 was an average on both shows.

PPV Breakdown

Can the NPWA pull of a ppv of CWA proportions? Let's hope so. Here's the way I see it breaking down before Cuddihy gets his slimy hands on a recap.

-Mark Matthews v. Jon Storm....Jon should by all means go over here. Dunno why this is on the ppv. Not the best place to start a rookie like Matthews out at. Pisser match unless you wanna see my personal favorite, the Eye of the Storm. My pick: Storm wins via clean pinfull

-Dave Kramer v. Kade Mikado:Mikado's been pushed, Kramer has been out of action. I think this one is a toss up, but playing it safe, I go with Kramer. There could be other plans in place, but I don't see a win by Kade doing much to help this storyline unless I'm missing something.Kramers wins dirty. Gets sledged by Ray after for the face 'payback'.

-Sean Sanders v. Dredd: Yes, Dredd is alive and yes, this is an inter-promotion match. Sean did some work for Dredd down in his fed to help get it on the map. Seems like Sanders has been lending out a hand to a few people (Announcing for the EWA) since leaving the NYSWF. Maybe Chang's contract's more flexible. Anyways, could be fun to watch since there could be DE-D interference. If not, I think Sanders will prolly win, but somehow be stripped of the belt. I can't see him holding onto it, because it serves not purpose. So I reverse my descision.Dredd wins a hardcore as hell match via DE-D interference

-Hardcore Battle Royal Lotta names in this one. Most won't even matter. I'm guessing this is elimination style. I think it'll go to Boden/Asmyth/Paladin. My pick...Boden gets a bloody pinfall over Asmyth.

-NPWA Tag Titles: LIHC v. Latino Powers My money says that Latino Powers could be unmasked at the ppv. We could either be swerved here, or go with the obvious choice. But while I think LIHC will come away with the masks...the Powers win. My pick:Latino Powers remain slap hands champions after a very fun match.

-4 way Number One Contender for the NPWA U.S. Title. This one is a total toss up. The coin method got me a pairing of Willmott/Douglas and Daniels/Joe. Willmott and Daniels won with tails and heads respectively. Daneils takes the match with heads side up.JD is Number One contender. So says the quarter of fate.

-T.V. Title. Draven v. Jublome With his brother leaving under controversial circumstances, it's good to see Micheal stay and this is why. A five star match here all the way. Could be the match of the year. I'd like to see even more of this fued. My pick is for Draven to go down fighting. This sets up an extended fued where it'll 'blow-up' with Draven finally getting the upper hand.Knight makes Draven's life worse and costs him the match. Wood is T.V. Champion.

-U.S. Championship: Venom v. Kanyon Well.....uhhh.....ummm.Void

-World Title. Marcus Hailey v. Grady Smith: Doesn't make sense to me. DFR verse DFR. Grady's been a fighting champ. This match may have some twists and turns, but let's hope we see some actual wrestling first. A stellar cap to a stellar event. I think with the abscence of the U.S. title match, there's another 15 minutes for the ladder match and this one to go. A four star match and most likely filled with many close pinfalls. I can't say it'll be a clean match and DFR will most likely get involved. My pick:Grady smith hangs on to his title. This may be a final chapter for Grady and he'll probably keep the belt for awhile.

-There's the weekend wrap up. So long for now.
Peace
