The XX Factor
By Ashlee Collins
Good Saturday Morning to you! Well, at least it's Saturday here in Anaheim. Jonathan's still sleeping, and I figured I may as well check up on this Dirtsheet thing he and Jonathan McMahon are writing for.
So I log on, and lo and behold, this is a nifty site! I read articles from good friends of the family in Sean Boden, Chris Kanyon (who is just beyond spectacular), Ryan Cuddihy (who I know the WORLD about, he's one of Jon's best friends), and various other guys who have been in and around myself and Jonathan's life in the past year and a half. The only thing I can say is that this is beautiful! I did notice a lot of things though.
First off, where are the WOMEN in this circuit hiding? I mean, Robin Best, the first lady of this circuit (I admit it, it's not me), Angela Chang, Serena. We're all strong women, and we've got no representation on this page! I don't want to turn this into "The View", but these guys are making me wonder if they're the stupid ogres we take them for. Just kidding, Jonathan and Mac, I love you both!
Secondly, and I know you all will hate this, but this is another pro NYSWF column. While you all bash it, Jonathan, Mac, and a select few are choosing to defend it. It seems that although the defense may seem blind, Jonathan and I have been aware of issues, and have pondered leaving the company many a time. However, it's the fun of being with a good group of people, and the fact that the NYSWF is truly a family of friends, that keeps us staying. I did notice that some of the people that are voicing the loudest complaints, are those that got the biggest rubs from the original problems at the beginning of the year. Alex Haven, Matt Hoffman, and a few others. They all left over minor squabbles, but they were treated pretty fairly as far as I saw. I can understand Alex's issue though, with the knee injury and all. Next to Jonathan, he's probably my favorite competitor to watch in the circuit, and working that segment with him back in January was fun. I'm okay Alex, still! :)
I guess what I'm trying to say is that whether you love our strange family, and our on-air personas, you can't deny that we're tight knit. Jonathan is ever the company man for his big brother Corey, and can still hype up a crowd against Prudence. These three guys work their damndest to make sure the NYSWF is top quality, and if it wasn't? They wouldn't let the show go on air. Take a look at the competitors we do have. Loco Martinez, a funny guy on air and off, Sean Boden, and I will say he's the most underrated man on this circuit (and hardest working man in showbiz, no matter WHAT James Brown says), Angel (you go Skie! Girl Power!), a professional in every sense, and the Brothers Collins. Really, despite what you may think, and we know a lot of it isn't good, you shouldn't count the NYSWF down yet. Recently, I was on chat in AOL with Ray Willmott, and he admitted that the NYSWF has some blossoming talent. Yes, I'm dropping names like flies, but hey, you go with what you know.
So in conclusion, count the NYSWF. Read its eulogy, and bury it in the grave. It's going to get back up, and become just as good a sequel as Austin Powers 2. No Fat Bastard's allowed. Until somebody takes away the keyboard from me, I'll keep bringing you the woman's point of view on this circuit. Oh yes, Jonathan...I LOVE YOU!
