Construction
I cut the full sized footboard in half with a saw and screwed it to the sides of the headboard to use as arms.
Then I added a 2x4 brace across the headboard at seat level - about 18 inches high.
Added the same 2x4 brace across the front at the same height.
This bed frame was hard maple so I drilled the holes first and then used BIG wood screws.
I used put a couple small corner braces under each corner. I strength tested the final product for 300+ pounds by putting one very stout male and myself on it. Brace well for sturdiness.
Screwed down some 1/2 inch plywood scrap for the seat. I used two pieces because that is what I had.
Then, I put on a green base coat so that I would have this color to sand down to in spots.
