Grime Hills |
A variation of Burlington is Grime Hills. It was found during road construction on Pearl-Nebo road in Pike county, Illinois (Odell 1984, Winters 1984). Grime Hills is a nodular pink to dark rasberry chert ( Morrow 1988). The chert found along the road was of poor quality. Evidence from possible quarry pits in the area may prove to be the location of higher quality Grime Hills chert (Winters 1984). More research needs to be done to locate the high quality Grime Hills chert. |
