Everyday this week I have been getting up very early for some reason. The last couple nights it has gotten extremely loud outside our hotel at around 5:00am, proof that people really dont go out till late and they stay out very early.
Today me and tim caught a bus to la playa samil. We are getting more familiar with the bus routes and how to get around. People drive absolutely INSANE here. Whenever I�m in a taxi I feel like I�m in that european car chase scene in the movie Ronin. Cars almost run people over and its not even a big deal to them. On one bus ride today a motorcycle with two people on it jumped in the wrong lane to pass cars and missed a head on collision with our bus by inches.
Anyways when we got to the beach we had another big culture shock. Our new friends didn�t warn us that all beachs around here are topless, and some are completely nude. It was pretty embarassing at first but we got used to it and the beach was very nice. We got a lot of sun but there was a light breeze so it wasn�t too hot. Instead of playing frisbee or throwing around a football the people here like to play a game with two ping pong paddles and ball, hitting it back and forth as long as they can. We were going to go out tonight with our friends but we fell asleep by about 10pm. Im finding it hard to try and get used to this strange social schedule they have.
Also today I had some calamari that was slightly different in the way it is prepared than I am used to. And I think the waiter thought there was something funny about what I ordered and the time of day.
