What is Dragonball?
Well dragonball is story of a monkey tailed boy named goku. He was sent to earth as a rejected saiyan(His race) as a baby from the planet vegeta. His mission was to grow up untill he is old enough to destroy earth. The reason he didnt was because he was dropped on his head at birth and his mind was erased of any thoughts of destroying the planet. He took earth as his future home. As he wasy only a baby, he couldn't walk and he was found by a man called gohan and took goku on as his grandson. Goku later killed grandpa gohan when he accidentily stood on him when in oozaroo form (This is when a saiyan looks at a full moon, he is transformed into a giant monkey, like king kong).

Well Dragonball Z is alot later into the future of dragonball, infact it it when goku is a fully grown adult. In the first episode, we see goku has a son named gohan(Named after goku's grandfather) and goku evil brother raditz come to earth to find out and kill goku for not destroying earth.

As Dragonball Z progresses, we see more eveil villians, our heros even travel to other planets to seek out the
dragonballs (Find out about those here).

Dragonball Z was written by a japanese Manga artist named Akira Toryama. DBZ made its first apperance in a magazine named shonen jump, a manga magazine produced in japan and now even US. A company called FUNimation, have taken on the job of translating, splitting, redrawing and releasing DBZ in the english language. If it wasn't for FUNimation we may have no DBZ.
