CIRCULAR

Refer this office letter cited above, requesting stations to send in reasons, for nil nominations from Engineering Officers cadre, for coverage of 19th Commonwealth games. It is seen no stations has uploaded any reason(s) as on date.

The reasons may be filled up in rows named as  4a. Sports/ Important/ VIP - OB coverages with (a)Event /(b)Date /(c)No. of days, & likewise in 4b..., 4c..., 4d..., and 4e..., if required.  

Stations are requested to  upload the report,  positively by 20^th Aug 2007.

Regarding setting  up of a Cell in AIR

The commonwealth Games 2010 are scheduled to be held in Delhi from 3^rd to 14^th October 2010. AIR will be covering this event on its National as well as External Network.

As Host Broadcaster, Prasar Bharati is expected to provide technical and other services at par with international standard which is fundamental to the success of the Games.

The technical planning work and identification of relevant operational details in consultation with Commonwealth Games Federation and Co-ordination Commission  and Broadcast Media Consultant have to be taken up by All India Radio as well as Doordarshan. It has been decided to set up a Cell in AIR Directorate to look after the responsibilities which may be assigned to AIR.

We are looking for suitable officers and staff to be deployed in the commonwealth Games Cell in Directorate. It is requested that Zonal Offices may kindly suggest names of suitable officers and staff in the cadre of Deputy Director Engineering, ADE, AE, SEA, EA, Senior Technician and Technician to work in the Cell. It is mentioned that the staff who would be working in the Cell would be transferred to Delhi in case they are working at other AIR stations and they will have to continue in Delhi at least till the games are over.

While recommending the names of staff, their background in covering big sporting events may be kept in view and their bio-data may be sent to undersigned as early as possible.
