N Possible Degrees of Freedom
When we talk about different points of view lets take an example, a red rose, do you see what I see when we both look at it ? may be , may be not.
Because its color changes when looked through glasses of different colors, its size and shape change when looked through glasses of different types. It looks different depending upon the light falling on it, looks different when viewed though infrared. Even under the same conditions an artist, a poet, a scientist, a philosopher, a lover see a red rose as different objects. If none of them knew what it was then the way they would describe it probably would draw many different images in our mind, starting from that of a painting to some abstract object made of feelings.
What does this do ? This makes us feel that we live in a world which is full of strangers ! Actually there are many more factors than space and time that contribute to existence of different point of view.
If we can understand clearly the views of others we 'll see a bit of them in us a bit of us in them, or may be we'll understand ourselves better though others eyes.
Subscribing to a particular angle of view is one dimesional, a single degree of freedom. I believe that we can have N possible degrees of freedom, where N approaches infinity, which is the highest degree of detachment from anything we can imagine.
Simplest forms of freedom are freedom to think and act. There is a child in everyone of us, but our sorrounding may stop us from laughing, crying, screaming and playing like a child. We are a slave to our sorroundings. Freedom from this may not mean doing all these, but feeling the lost, sleeping child in us so that we can reach to other children like one among them.
We can find a little bit of every attribute of nature in us. The key it to understanding it which helps us feel the universe and ourselves better.
What N degrees of freedom means ?
It means detachment from all attributes of nature that enslave us, this does not mean attachment to less than zero attributes, it means attachment to more than infinite number of attributes, means completeness.
