What better place to go deep sea fishing than right here in Bermuda? One Sunday at 7am, 5 of us showed up at Albouy's Point to meet our charted fishing boat for the day. Within an hour we had caught our first fish, a Dolphin Fish, and were on our way to catching a lot more! We made it out about 13 miles, and at times couldn't even see the island anymore. I was the only one of the group who hadn't been on a trip like this before, so the frist couple of times people got bites, they gave me the reel to reel the fish in. It was actually pretty hard work and I was a bit sore the next day. We ended up with Tuna, Wahoo, Mackrel and a couple of other random smaller fish we used for bait. About an hour and a half after catching the Tuna, our captain chopped one of them up, brought out the wasabi and ginger, and we had the freshest tuna sushimi I have ever had, or probably will ever have! We ended up coming back at about 5:30, for a total of 10.5 hours on the boat. All in all it was a good day. |
