The Mesozoic Era
The Paleozoic era represented one of the most important events on Earth's history, with the appearance of the first complex life forms. Many groups of living animals descent from the life forms that arose 570 million years ago, like arthropods, fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and many, many more. But suddenly, without warning, something (not yet determined, but possibly a huge comet) caused an immense destruction. Roughly 90% of the Earth's life was wiped out. The impact of this cataclysm was so great that scientists agree that this occurence didn't only mean the end of the Permian period, but also the end of the Paleozoic area.
However, when the effects of this cataclysm ended, a new era began, the Mesozoic.
