| If you are here you probably got here via our WebLog site - if not you can CLICK HERE to see what we are trying to do.. This is the site where we intend to place mostly pictures, but occasionally maybe some other kind of large file, so that our readers can, if they choose, download and review them at their leisure. We will place them here rather than EMail them because: We like to view pictures at near full screen size - In our experience that is easier with a web page than with EMail. The files take a while to download, some of you may not want to take the time. If they are here, you can download or not, as you prefer. The files will stay here indefinitely, unlike Email which disappears from the server after a while, usually 30 days. Some ISP's servers, e.g., AOL, don't allow large files in Email. This page is an experiment, to see if we can set it up, and if you can receive it OK. Please let us know how it works by sending us Email here, The links below will take you to four pictures at two different resolutions. One of the resolutions will PROBABLY allow you to view the pix at full screen size, after you have either hit the F11 key or clicked on (at the top of the browser window) "View....Full Screen". After viewing the full screen you can return to the normal browser window by hitting F11 (again, if that's how you got to full screen). (The preceeding assumes you are using a fairly recent version of Internet Explorer - I'm not certain about Netscape, but it's similar.) If I can help, EMail or call me. |

| Peg took the pictures the links will lead you to on (02/02/03) at DuPuis Nature Reserve, which is about 30 minutes drive from our home. DuPuis is as close to the original unspoiled Florida swamps as you can get to by driving. The pictures were taken with our digital camera and have not been edited. Epiphytes are air plants - plants that take physical support from trees but get all their nourishment from the air and rain. The sun dew is a carnivorous wetland plant, quite common here, that catches insects on its sticky leaves and then digests them. |
