| Handgun safety and personal protection, who needs it? | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Welcome to Dinorell's Place, I've been a police officer for almost 20 years. This page is intended to be informative, thought provoking, and most of all........honest. You rarely will get honest talk from police that are on shows, TV, or other public service announcements, because they are trying to be politically correct, and don't have the nuts to tell the truth. Here, we will explore and evaluate your need for a handgun. If interested, please continue and have fun. If not, then please place your head back in the sand. Ownership of a handgun in our land is a right. Should everyone exercise this right? Well, of course not. The decision of gun ownership is complex. Although it is a right, a responsible citizen owning a handgun should ask themselves a few questions before they go out and purchase themselves some Protection. Questionaire, please anwer these before you purchase or even consider purchasing a handgun. 1. Do you think that the police can protect you from the societal predators that prey on us daily? Yes, then go no further, stick your head back in the sand, contribute your tax dollars to a well meaning politician. 2. Do you curse, flash your lights, or flip off the idiot that just cut you off in traffic? Yes, go no further, save yourself alot of money, time in jail, and lawyer fees. Check out some anger management classes or get some valium. 3.Does the global warming situation, the hunting of whales by Eskimos, or the use of lab rats for testing upset you to the point that Greenpeace and Peta look attractive? Yes, go no further, you wouldn't use a weapon anyway. You should probably use that cute little safety whistle and hope someone who answered "no" to these questions is nearby. Ok, if you answered NO, to all of the above questions, then continue, this site might help you. |

| Yes, I lose control at times. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Yes, I must admit that global warming whale hunting and killing lab rats concerns me. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Ok, you feel helpless, intimidated, and a little pissed off that our tax dollars are spent on programs like the Clinton 100,000 cops, yet we see no real positive gains from these programs. You're a little confused when you see cops in community centers serving breakfast to young children and seniors while thugs and drug dealers are just around the corner making a quick buck and driving SUV's that cost more than your house. But if, the real thing that pisses you off, is when you go to work, work all day, listen to the bosses' crap, then come home and see your house or apartment broken into, call the police and guess what.......find out they don't even send a car to my house to take the *@! report......Then Welcome to the real world. Sorry folks, it's not going to change. These programs are in place, they have been permanently ingrained into our brains, and it ain't going to get any better. The days of the police, PO-LICING, are over. If you don't know what this means, then ask a gray haired cop sucking down a donut at the coffee shop. Don't take too much of his time, it will piss him off. He will remember, and it will probably bring a smile to the old man's face. Aggressive police are dinosaurs. That's the bad news, so what, you already knew it. The good news is, it's not too late to take control of your own safety and the safety of your family. Never depend on anyone else to care for the safety of you or your family. |

| Westerns are my favorite genre movies. In most cases, you have rugged individuals trying to scratch out a living among cattle rustlers, carpetbaggers, horsethieves, and just general riftraft. Today, things are not much different. Thugs and gang members prey on us daily. The "have nots" taking from the "haves." But we need to face it, there is no "man with no name" coming to our rescue. Therefore, we must prepare. Buying a handgun should not be an intimidating experience. I remember how I felt when I decided to purchase a little protection for the first time. This was way before becoming an officer. I did not have the luxury of knowing such a sage, all-knowing, crimefighter, like you do now. I hope this page will help you to avoid some simple errors amd mistakes that many make. I have seen the tragedies that occur when good intentioned people purchase handguns for protection without clearly thinking through the entire process. |
