| Dino the All American Dog AMBOR's #5 Ranked UKC Novice Dog for 2004 | ||||||||||||||||

| Dino was adopted as a 17 lb. one-year old lab/chihuahua mix from the County SPCA in February 2001. He was relinquished due to his problems with the children. He was my first dog, and we had a rocky start with seperation anxiety requiring medication, and a case of adolescent attitude. We worked hard and graduated with a 2nd place ribbon from his basic class in August 2001. Dino passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test that October. March 2002 he earned his Temperament Tested title. He kept training and earned his AMBOR and ASCA Companion Dog (CD) titles in the Fall of 2002 placing in each of his AMBOR matches, and winning 1st in each of his ASCA Novice A trials. He earned his UKC CD in August 2004, placing 4th in two of his Novice B trials and was high scoring AMBOR dog in trials 2 and 3. Dino has trained into the Utility level and has shown in Open without success. The out of sight stays were our hardest exercise due to his prior separation anxiety. So at the end of 2005, we've decided to work on our rally titles for now and give him a rest from obedience. Dino earned an APDT Level 1 MCL Rally Obedience title in 2003. We earned our Level 2 title in March 2005 and our Level 3 title that November with the Rally Award of Excellence. We finished our ARCH title in Jan 2006 & earned our ARCHX (APDT Rally Champion Excellent) in August 2006. We earned APDT's highest championship title, ARCHEX, in August 2007. We are very proud of Dino's accomplishments in APDT Rally-O. We have introduced Dino along with Cedric, to AWTA Den Trials. Dino scored 95% out of 100% in Novice class, not qualifying but a good effort! He successfully earned his AMBOR junior earthdog title at Bella Vista Training Ctr. in Pennsylvania 4/05. Dino passed a Herding Instinct Test (HIC) on sheep in December 2003 at Flyaway Field in Pennsylvania under Chris Davies. We are now convinced he is a Jack Russell/Corgi because he does both terrier work and herding activities. Dino is a former registered therapy dog with 480 persons visited during his 10 months at the nursing home. Dino made a tremendous difference brightening spirits. We are proud that Dino earned his Versatile Companion Dog certificate from AMBOR in April 2005.
