Villa D'Este Competition 2006.

Each year a concourse event is held at the Villa D'Este in Italy and there are 2 main classes, the classics and the prototypes. There is obviously a winner for each category.

After the concours has ended selected artists are invited to produce a painting which must comprise the two winning cars and some part or parts of the Villa itself. From the entries submitted one is chosen and this artwork will then be used for the next years publicity information, posters, invitations and will appear in other publications.

The 2006 concours resulted in a Ferrari 410 SuperAmerica being the classic car class winner and an Alfa Romeo 8C Spider being the prototype class winner.

I was very pleased to be invited to enter this years artwork competition and the picture below is my entry. This artwork is A2 in size (60 x 42 cms).

Similar artwork can be commissioned to your own requirements.

Update 17th Dec 2006: Unfortunately this was not chosen as the winner for the 2007 concours, but it was good to take part, next time maybe!!!
