| 56 years old. Wilfred Bagley was born and raised in Harrogate in Yorkshire, the son of the wealthy squire Geoffrey Bagley. At sixteen, he was apprenticed as a clerk to the merchant firm of Henderson and Langley. Several years later, he became engaged to and then married Charlotte Harthorne, the daughter of Sir Henry Harthorne. When his father died, Wilfred himself became a merchant and soon had amassed a considerable fortune. When he was comfortable enough, he moved his wife and three children to Westchester Manor and lived there for several years. Recently, he has taken up residence at Hangley Place after Westchester no longer suited the family. |
