As a boy, he often got into trouble and had to be excused by his father. As a youth, he would squander his money on frivolous gifts for young ladies, and as a man he was no different. That is, until he was introduced to Nancy Rand, his brother Charles' sweetheart. The two spent a great deal of time together as Charles was often away in London, and soon became very interested in each other. They were soon engaged and shortly thereafter, married. Charles did not attend the ceremony. After the marriage, the brothers were never on good terms with each other. Thomas and Nancy have an infant daughter named Clarice who is two years old. |
