| Twenty and nine. He is tall, well over the average height, and has a kind gentle countenance as he peers over his spectacles at the customers who come into his father's shop. He has rumpled dark brown hair, friendly gray eyes, and a slightly ruddier complexion than his father. His dress is always somewhat rumpled, and ink stained, though he tries not to stain his clothing. His manner shy and retiring. He is the oldest of the Hamlin family. |
