KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Mr. Dinh Van HIEP has over 7 years of experience in Highway and Traffic Engineering. He has been active in highway engineering research covering road planning, highway design, pavement design and maintenance, road management systems, road assessment and evaluation as well as environmental impact assessment (EIA). He has published several technical papers in international journals and conferences in these areas. In particular, he has a wide experience in using HDM-4 for supporting decision-making, economic evaluation, and analysis of alternatives at both road network and project levels through actual projects in Vietnam  as well as in Japan. He has carried out several researches in order to use HDM-4 effectively in highway development and maintenance which has been published some papers as listed in the following part.

For industrial experience, he has participated in road and bridge projects along with several industrial companies such as BCEOM Societe Francaise D'Ingenierie  (BCEOM, France), JICA Study Team (Japan), Orientation Consultant Company (OCC, Japan), Pacific Consultants International (PCI, Japan), SMEC International Pty. Ltd (Australia), Roughton International (UK), Asia Pacific Engineering Consultants (APECO), and Consultants Company of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (CCU, Vietnam). He has investigated, designed and supervised projects on road and highway through much of his career, and has participated in planning, technical assistant, feasibility study, detailed design, detailed design review, pre-qualification, and bidding of many road and highway projects in Vietnam. He has applied AASHTO, ASTM, Asphalt Institute, Austroad, UK (BS), Road Note (TRL), Japanese and Vietnamese standards in design approaches and construction techniques to these projects.

Currently, he is pursuing a PhD program under Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho) at International Graduate Program for Civil Engineering of Saitama University in Japan. For further information about him, visit his Curriculum vitae
