Lord's Meeting
Member's
Perhaps we could limit the in-take of new members to 'by invite only'. As we are getting larger.
I reckon we need to work with those that we have now by bringing them into the community
and get them settled as it were. That way they will not be left out lacking
help or being un-noticed/ignored.
I know myself first hand what it's like to be ignored in a guild when all you want is help.
Be it simple advice, or a question answered to perhaps a little more involvement of
help with a quest. It can be quite annoying to not get a response.
I was in a guild that had at least 30 member's online and half were in towns.
Not a single bugger would answer. Save one who didn't know, and he was a companion.
We had merged with this other guild. They ignored all my guild appart from the few 'highests lvl's.
Touching on what Draku mentioned yesterday. I agree we need at least one more low level organiser.
Someone to spur those needing help into groups to go quest and support one another.
By grouping with eachother, they will get to learn 'group relations' and want
to group more withthe same people, thus they have a good group to go round and help eachother
in the future.
Who to pick... I reckon Silax would be the chap for the job if he agreed. To be there for when
Wolfsshadow "aka:wolf" wasn't online.
High Level Member's (HLM)
Ah yes, our valuable 55+ er's (55 for a value) . We, the elite, not so much have an obligation to, but
as we posess a greater knowledge of the game, in-game information, experience etc,
it's only right that we pass our knowledge onto those newer to the game, or at the
very least make it known we are there for that very reason.
Form's of help could be questing, farming, equipment, even an answer to a question,
it's still positive towards those that are advancing through the game.
Farming
Farming! This is related to 'High Level Member's'. I believe as I have the ability to gather
resources faster, be it minig, farming for cloth etc, then if I have some spare time to do so,
then why not not.
I reckon that the HLM could easily afford to spend say 30mins now and then, or say,
farm for 40 units of whatever resource it was for a low level'd member. You'd get
money drop's and the items if any. This way the low level'd members can get help
advancing their professions. As its hard to effectivly do both advance
professions and quest at the same time.
Banking
Yep, the previously notified scheme. I had read about others (guilds) trying this.
Sounds good to me. Regards amount and frequency, no idea, to be discussed maybe.
Off the top of my head, perhaps a monthly scheme where the HLM pay say '1g',
the 30-50's say pay '50s' and 20-30 25s...
Volitile issue to suggest giving money away.
General
Ok, general stuff.
Erm, first off, loosly discussing the issue yesterday with Draku, we agree that
we are getting a little too large and so, people do get over looked when asking for help.
It's hard for so few HLM to support so mant low level'd members.
I agree that people do join at a low level and expect the higher level'd players
to help them. Thus not helping themselves.
The impression I got from pondering over this was that most will join with the hope
their problems will be solved by others doing the work for them.
An example of this, in a different category would be for resources. Instead of
'can you suggest good mining spots', you get 'does any one have copper I can have'.
Idea's to perhaps confront this?
.....
Erm lets see. Farming, pro's and con's.
Pro's are it helps them develop faster and is a HUGE PR booster.
Take the example recently. I did just over an hour and got 133 copper and 75
rough stone for Trollslaya. He was over the moon.
I told him what I had in Guild chat and nodoubt others would have seen what had
been got for him to help out with his profession. Thus they think hopfully, hey, they are
aware of us lower level'd players.
A con would be too much of this would strengthen the problem of they doing little, us doing it for them.
We are here to help them develop, not play the game for them.
Another positive was the 5g to the new chap for his mount.
He went balistic with praise for the guild at reading that simple helping hand.
Anyway, must go. Need to have food before I go out.
