The mighty Av Reet is the greatest of the djinn.  A creature of vast powers founded in both pattern magic and shadow magics.   There is very little information on Av Reet beyond his name.  What has been culled from ancient records in Amber, Thulusia, and Chaos is that much of Oberons control of the magics of the pattern came with the assistance of Av Reet in the earliest times between the creation of the pattern and the founding of Amber. 

There is some belief that a falling out may have occurred between father and son. 

Av Reet rules a huge swath of shadowviels as a god, Lord of the Djinn, He does not claim any relation to Amber nor is Amber blood any lever with him. 

The magical system known as Elementalism, the summoning of elementat creatures from earth, air, Water, and fire elementals, up to the great Ava Dufiro, has connections to his shadows.  He is listed as an Ava Dufiro of Wisher.

There are a number of oracles spread throughout shadows that seem to echo connections to Av Reet.  There are also a large number of shrines.

It is assumed that he has walked the pattern but their is some evidence that he may have helped Oberon and Dworkin tame the Wild Pattern after its creation.
