| On the day you were born all the angels sang, the heavens rejoiced and the church bells rang. A Guardian Angel was bestowed on you, along with your parents and relatives, too. Your parents to nurture and teach you the way, and your Guardian Angel to protect you each day. |
| My husband and I had been trying to conceive for a couple months. On April 16, 2001 I began to feel some nausea. Then on April 19th, it was confirmed by home pregnancy test that we were pregnant. On May 14th we went to our first check up and found out the due date was to be December 23rd. This was also Miranda's maternal great grandfathers' birthday. At our next visit, June 5th, her heart rate was 164 at 11 weeks. Our first ultrasound was on July 25th and the second on August 22nd. We found out we were expecting a Baby Girl! Our goal now was to find a name for this precious little one and the decoration process of her room. We had a few names floating around in our heads by this point but had not decided on one in particular. By the 27 weeks, we had Miranda Nichole picked for her name, her room decorated and furniture on its way. We were given two baby showers. The first, October 21st, hosted by friends. The second, November 3rd, hosted by our mothers. We receive 7 hand-made blankets, pink eyelet comforter set, numerous sets of clothes, and too many others to list individually. By 34 weeks, November 12th, our hospital bags are packed and started attending a childbirth class. At this point, Miranda's heart rate was 148. We keep a journal and the last entry before her birth was November 29th. By this time, I was going through some changes in a hurry. December 2nd/3rd, around midnight, I laid down to sleep but Miranda had something else in mind. She was ready to meet everyone and see what the world was like. At 37 weeks, and after 36 hours of labor, being sent home once for 12 hours, and having pitocin administered, Miranda Nichole arrived on December 4th @ 12:22 pm! She weighed 5.9 lbs and measured 18 1/2 inches. |
