Playbill Bio:
Dina Morishita (Wei Wei) is exceptionally excited to be making her debut with Second Generation in The Wedding Banquet. Although she is no stranger to the stage, this is her first opportunity to originate a role. Dina has been performing professionally for 3 years and in that short amount of time, she has fulfilled the dream of playing her two favorite roles. She performed as "Kim" both regionally and nationally in the Broadway musical Miss Saigon, and she toured with the National Touring Company of Les Miserables as "Eponine". She has also been sighted "shimmying" in Smokey Joe's Caf.
Dina is from Sacramento, California, but she currently resides in Los Angeles where she plans to broaden the scope to include film and television. She and her wonderful family and friends are anxiously awaiting the release of her first film entitled Uncle P, starring rap artist Master P and his son Lil' Romeo. Dina is playing the role of "Tiffany", a very comedic role as a member of a girl group called 3 Times Luscious. The members of this girl-group can most eloquently be described as "American Idol" rejects who are quite fanatical about Master P. We all have to start somewhere! She also just completed filming an independent film called Tales From Beyond, which should be released early next year at various film festivals.
Although her passion is for the performing arts, Dina's educational background is in business administration. If the day ever comes that Dina decides to hang-up her dancing shoes or her microphone, she will pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales.
