Now why can't more people understand that? I hope my generation does not die out being the last one that has owned let alone played the older systems. (ex: NES, Sega Genisis, Atari, Oddessy ect.) The 7 year old next door started laughing at me when I said that when I was little I thought Bubble Bobble (a NES title) was the best game on the planet. The only way that she stopped laughing was when I made the statement, "PlayStation didn't exist when I was little." She stopped laughing and just let out a little, "Oh,". I'm suprised she didn't have enough common sense to figure out by herself. She has an older brother that is the same age as me and the oldest system they have is the SNES. That day really got me thinking and made me want to know how aware my friends were of the old stuff. Out of 5 friends 4 didn't know what DuckHunt was. A few days later I brought in the cartridge to show them, It's a good thing 3 of the friends who didn't know sit at my lunch table. The fourth is in 8th grade and when I discribed whatDuck Hunt was I'm pretty sure she said "Weird" and that's not all, I also discribed the SuperGameBoy to her, and for all of you who don't know what that is, It's ok I didn't expect her to know either. The SuperGameBoy is a cartridge that you put a GameBoy game into then you put it in into the SNES therefore being able to play the game on the TV. Cool huh? Well her reply was agian, "Weird." Now that ticked me off. WEIRD!?!?! HOW IS THAT WEIRD!!!!!! PLAYING GAMEBOY GAMES ON THE TV, THAT'S FRICKEN' AWSOME!!! Anyway when somebody is introduced to something old for the first time they will avoid playing it if possible. Why? Graphics, yes graphics. Graphics are usually what attract a gamer to a game. But now tell me why are the graphics like they are hmm? BECAUSE THAT'S THE BEST THERE WAS BACK THEN!!!!! THE NES IS 17 FRICKEN' YEARS OLD CAN'T YOU GIVE IT SOME SLACK!? It does deserve it considering how KICKASS the system is. That's really the main reason which it's a really stupid one at that. It's like the delema us Zelda fans have to face today since Zelda went Cel-Shaded, we'll be able to see who the real Zelda fans are. The real Zelda fans will buy the game even if the game is cel-shaded just because it's a Zelda game, and Zelda games always kickass. Another reason they avoid old games is because they have a choice. "I have a PS2 why whould I want to play something that's older than me?" ACK! I'M DYING HERE!! You'd want to play it because I'll force you to!!! The last reason people don't play. "I doan wanna." Why? "Because." Because is not an answer now tell me why you don't want to play it! "Because it's old." So what if it's old? "The old stuff is bad." ACK!!!! YOU'RE KILLING ME WITH STUPIDITY HERE!!! The old games are so much FUN!!! I can't even count how many times I've gone back to and older system because I was board with the CURRENT system. The older games are simple and straight foward. And because of this they can get EXTRODINARILY hard to near IMPOSSIBLE!!! And also THERES NOT SAVE OPTION ON OLDER GAMES!!! That's right! Your best buddy the save option didn't exist until 1987... 2 YEARS AFTER THE NES CAME OUT!!! That's right TWO WHOLE YEARS of games that you can't save on! And even when the option came into being not many games had it. That makes things a little bit harder to beat now dosen't it? EX: Play Super Mario Bros. on the NES. Hard to get far now isn't it? Now play it on Super Mario All Stars for the SNES now you can save your progress every world you beat. Easier eh? Now play it on Super Mario Brothers Deluxe for GameBoyColor which you can now save every level. You got alot farther right? How would I know this? I own all those titles, the origanal I can't get past the 1st world, the SNES version I am currently on the 8th world which is the last one, the GBC version I am on 8-4 world 8 level 4... the last level in the game. So the whole point of that is to say that the games of today are easier. Not only with the save option but also being able to contiue and how easy it is to get extra lives. Some old games don't even let you get more lives. So mabey you should think about the older stuff BEFORE you diss it. There is a logical reason why the old stuff is how it is. Just pretend that you're 5 years old in the late 80's early 90's and that stuff is the best think on the planet! "WOW! I can control stuff on my screen! That is so cool! I wonder how it works!" How do I know? Well I think I was playing Bubble Bobble when I was age 4. That would be during oh I don't know THE EARLY 90'S mabey? Now you know to NEVER get me on this subject EVER AGIAN (not like anybody would have) Thank you for hearing me out and I hope I have changed your opinion on older videogames.
