The Wave Dies Happy

Clad in sunny-bright array

The wave broke up in shiny spray,

And glittering like pure gold

Rushed to reach its only goal –

The granite rider to embrace,

And forever, till the very end

Eternity with youth to blend.

And flew that streaming wavy mane

Lad and lassie for to bear.

And bursted out in the air

Thousands of sparks so fair

From the decorations hidden

In unruly maiden’s hair.

And myriads of  bead-like hearts

Soared high into the sky

Toward the halo of this happy love,

Shining wise and lovely from above.
