Here are comments on the comic before the guestbook got up and running. Evidently, I like the idea they're kinda like letters to a published comic, so here they are for all to read (with my replies when appropriate.)

Hello Tobie,

Okay, am reading your Diliman#4.

-the third eye during the attack of the Tikbalang looks like a late addition?

-Who's Bernado Carpio? I've read of the name before but me not know him.

-so Dyan is a bad guy, is he?

-second 'extreme close-up' pic thingy

-um, ride me horsie.

-third 'extreme close-up' pic thing. Wha-?

-ooooh, a mananaggal swooped by while they were

driving. But then, why was one also where Gabe was?

-end.

Well, it's more exciting now. What time of day is this? I've forgotten.

BTW, tell me when you're planning to do your next 24 hour comic, IF you are going to do one again. I'd like to try the same time as you. But I gotta go try and draw/practice again. Thanks!

K!

Hmm a bunch of questions... which most likely are the same in other reader's minds.. okay, let's tackle them one by one...

The third eye wasn't actually a late addition, but was given some blurs around the edges to look more like it appeared. Earlier renditions of it gave Gabe the appearance of having a actual third eye.

Bernardo Carpio is one of the local legendary heroes which has long been overlooked. Known for his great strength and skill in hunting, he was often proclaimed to be a protector of the land from the darker forces in many short renditions of his tale. I don't have my sources right now, but next time, I'll try to send you a few titles of books where his tales can be found.

Dyan is not the bad guy. He's just... misunderstood. heheh.

Extreme Close Up pic thingy? Heh... what can I say? The ability of Photoshop to duplicate a panel truly offers possibilities. Obviously, I am still learning what they are. Heheh.

Ride me horsie indeed.

Hey, that was a dramatic pause! :-)

Whether or not this was the same mananaggal remains to be seen. As Gabe mentioned in an earlier issue, all the manananggals were supposedly forced away from Manila already. But then again, this Tikbalang broke a pact, didn't it?

Glad to know you found it more exciting. I was hoping to build that up. I didn't know if the pacing was too slow or just right, especially since some readers thought the flow was a bit too much of a crawl.

As to the 24 hour comic, by all means, let's make one sometime. Probably spend the day in one living room working on it till it ends. For those who don't know what this is about, check out Scott McCloud's page for info.
