DILG Region 02 supports GMA

 


 

Add DILG Region 02 in the list of supporters of the new highest-ranking official of the country,  Her  Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Upon taking her Oath of Office as the 14th President of the Philippines last January 20, 2001 at EDSA Manila which was officiated by  Supreme Court Justice Hilario Davide, Jr.,   erstwhile Vice President Macapagal-Arroyo was assured of dynamic  support by the various quarters of society.

Political, cause-oriented as well as religious groups all over the  country have sent to Malacañang  their resolutions or manifestos indicating therein their  commitment to help President Macapagal-Arroyo   in the successful implementation of her  various programs for the Filipino community.

Said groups vowed to help President Macapagal-Arroyo in her programs    to  fight  poverty,   promote public morality, reform politics and lead by example.

In Cagayan Valley Region, the    key officials and employees of the DILG led by OIC-Regional Director  Isabelita EM. Abcede welcomed the recent political development at the national level. They assured the new national leadership of  their  dedication   to serve well the interest of the local government unit-clientele  above their personal interest.

OIC-RD Abcede expressed optimism that under the administration of President Macapagal-Arroyo, local government units in Region 02 will be able to acquire the needed  assistance  to become   self-sufficient, progressive and peaceful community.

Aside from exhorting the employees of the DILG to give their active and uncompromising support, OIC-RD Abcede also encouraged the local elective officials of the region to cooperate with the new national leadership.

In a  faxed message  to the Provincial Governors of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino, and City Mayors of Tuguegarao and Santiago thru the   DILG Provincial Directors, City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers, OIC-RD Abcede  encouraged to continue local government operations and delivery of basic services to the people.

She asked them  “not fail to promote peace and order and public safety especially in this critical period of the new leadership.”

“May we join hands in calling for unity among our constituents in the name of peace and economic recovery,” OIC-RD Abcede further encouraged  while welcoming the appointment by President Macapagal-Arroyo of Laguna Governor and Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) President Joey Lina as the new DILG Secretary.
