1355 - The Year of the Harp

Kythorn (June) 15

    I was standing at my parent's front door, saying my good-byes to my family. My sister, Tempest hugs my leg and said "When you coming back, Diwan?"
     I knelt down to look her in the eyes. "I don't know little one. I'm going to do some traveling. I'll be back as soon as I can."
     My father, Listor, walks up to me "Have a safe journey son, and if you see your brother, tell him we said hi, and we want to meet his new wife."
     I stood up, giving my sister to dad, saying "I will dad, if I see him."
     Dad said "It should take about four days to get to Waterdeep."
     I told him "I know, you've told me several times." I walked to my mother, giving her a hug "I'll see you soon." Then I wiped the tears from her eyes. "There's no need to cry, I'll be fine."
     My mother, Dolmina, kissed me and said "I know, but I always cry when ever my kids leave home. I did when Ranger left two years ago, and I will when your sister leaves."
     I let go of her and said "True, but she's only five. She still has a little time left here." I walked to the door and left, saying goodbye to everyone.
     My sister runs to the door saying "Bye Diwan, come back soon, If you don't, I'll find you."

Kythorn (June) 19

    I traveled north to Waterdeep. When I got there, I found a tavern to stop at. While I was drinking, a tall man walked up to me. "Where are you headed, young one?"
     I looked at him and said "No where specific, I just stopped here for a drink."
     The man said "It's nice meeting you, my name is Milosin."
     I said "I'm Dilantik Kesintar."
     Milo said "I'm heading for the inn. Maybe we'll see each other again."
     I said "Perhaps." Milo left the tavern, leaving me to drink on my own.

     The next morning, I was walking to buy some items, and I saw Milo again with a woman. Milo spotted me walking, and came over to me. "Hey Dilan, how was your night?"
     I said "A bit strange, being away from home."
     Milo said "I know the feeling." Then he introduced me to the woman. "Dilan, this is Kessinda," Then he looks at Kes. "Kes, this is Dilantik Kesintar."
     I held out my hand and she took it and shook it. I said "Nice to meet you Kessinda."
     Kes said "Kes will do. Nice to meet you too Dilantik."
     I said "Call me Dilan."
     Kes looked at me "Kesintar?"
     I said "Yes."
     Kes said "Your father is Listor Kesintar?"
     I said "Yes."
     Kes said "I've heard of him, he's one of the best knights of Myth Drannor."
     I said "I know. He wanted me to follow in his footsteps like my brother did. I wanted to follow a different path."
     Milo said "We're heading to Luskin, if you want to join us."
     I said "Sure, just let me pick up a few things."
     Kes said "Great, we'll meet you at the north gate."
     I said "Ok, I'll see you there." I left to pick up some items and some food for the road. I arrived at the north gate and met up with Milo and Kes. Then we headed for Luskin.

Kythorn (June) 23

Just before we got into Luskin, we were attacked by six goblins. Milo went after three, Kes took one, and that left two for me.
Milo was slicing with two swords, and cut the head off one goblin, before the thing knew what happened. The other two froze for a second, and then charged at him.
