| Orthea's Kidnapping |
| Dilan was walking around Baulder�s Gate, looking for Aleroun. He had sent a message to Dilan�s home to meet him here.
Dilan saw him at a booth, buying incense. He walks up to him, �Hey, What did you want?� Aleroun looked around to see Dilan, �Oh, dad. How�s mom and the baby?� �They�re doing fine. Is that what you had me here for? You could�ve gone to the house for that.� �No, I wanted to tell you that Aunt Dawn wanted to talk to you.� �Where�s she at?� �She went to visit grandpa and grandma. She wanted to meet you at the tavern in two hours.� �Do you know what she wants?� �She didn�t tell me. She just wanted you to meet her there.� �Ok, I�ll go and see her then.� �Ok, see you later. I have to get back to the others.� Dilan left Aleroun, and headed home. Orthea just put baby Aleroun to bed. She walked into the kitchen to fix dinner, when the front door busts open and four dark elves storms in. Orthea turned to the dark elves, �What do you want?� One of the elves said, �We want you.� They walk towards her. Dilan walks in, noticing the door, broken off the hinges. �What�s going on?� Two of the dark elves charge at Dilan, before he had time to pull his weapons. They tackle him to the floor. Orthea said, �What do you want with me?� The elf said, �You have disobeyed the goddess. You shall be punished, by sacrifice.� They drag Orthea out of the kitchen. Dilan forces the elves off of him, and knocks them to the floor. The other drow, in the kitchen shoots Dilan with a crossbow bolt in the arm. Dilan falls back to the ground, unconscious, from the poison bolt. They hear crying coming from the other room. The two at the door go to check it out. They find the baby in his crib, crying. One of them picks him up and carries him to the others. �It�s the spawn of these two.� The other elf said, �Take him with us. He�ll be a good sacrifice.� The dark elves leave the house, leaving Dilan laying on the floor. Three hours later, Dilan walks into the tavern, a bit beat up. Dawn saw him, and walks to him, �What happened?� Dilan said, �Dark elves came and kidnapped Orthea and Aley.� Aleroun stands up, �What? What are they going to do with them?� Dilan said, �They said something about a sacrifice.� Dawn said, �We have to go save them.� Dilan said, �Thanks. Sinlon and Jinol are in Waterdeep right now. And Ranger is on a mission. I need help to find them.� Dawn said, �We�re here to help you.� She looks at Aleroun, �Go and get the others.� Aleroun left the tavern. Dawn said, �Where do we start looking?� Dilan said, �They�re taken them to Menzoberranzan.� Dawn said, �You�ve been there before. That should help us.� Dilan said, �I know someone else who�s been there. She can help too.� Dawn said, �Laura?� Dilan said, �Yes, but I don�t know where to find her. I haven�t seen her in a long time, since the Talon Tavern ran out of business.� Dawn said, �I know where to find her.� They leave the tavern. Dawn, Dilan, Red, Aleroun, and Bish were walking through the woods. They hear some music from a close distance. Dawn said, �We�re getting close.� Dilan said, �It�s been a while, but aren�t these the woods outside of the Talon�s Tavern?� Dawn said, �Yes. It�s been abandoned for a while now, but Laura frequents here now and then.� Aleroun said, �From where I come from, the Talons built a new tavern not too far from here. This one stayed abandoned. I used to come here a lot when I was a kid.� They get to the edge of the woods, and see the tavern, looking like a ghost town. They could see one small light on inside. They go inside, where the music is louder and they see the source of it. Laura is sitting on a couch, playing her flute. She didn�t even respond when the group came in. When they got closer, Laura looked up, �I heard you come in.� She stands up and gives Dawn a hug, �Haven�t seen you for a few months.� She notices Dilan and gives him a hug too, �Haven�t seen you in a very long time.� Dilan said, �I know. I�ve been working.� Laura said, �So, what brings you here?� Dawn said, �Dilan�s wife, Orthea, was kidnapped by the drow, and Dilan thought you could help, since you�ve been in their city before.� Laura said, �Sure, I�ll help. We don�t have a wizard to disguise us as drows though.� Dilan said, �Then we�ll have to play it by ear.� They hear footsteps on the stairs, and they see flowing red hair coming from there. Laura turned around, �Fox, where have you been?� Fox said, �Going down memory lane.� Laura said, �Dilan needs some help to rescue his wife, do you want to join the group?� Fox said, �Dilan? It�s been a while. Sure I�ll help.� Dilan said, �They also took my son, so, we need to help him too.� Laura said, �Of course.� Laura puts her flute away, and they all leave the tavern. |
