All my life I have loved art. Some of my favorite artists are Monet, Degas and Mary Cassatt. A more recent favorite is Thomas Kinkade.
Since I was a young girl, I have wanted to try painting. Because of a fear of failure, I always managed to talk myself out of even trying, by telling myself that I couldnt possibly do that! And of course I was right , I couldn't possibly paint a picture if I couldn't even find the courage to buy the materials and pick up the brush.
Well , it took losing two important people in my life and the stress of coping with that to give me the little nudge I needed to pick up that brush. I realized that the end of our life here on this earth can come way too soon, with un-realized dreams and un-acheived goals and un-met challenges left hanging in the balance.
So I decided that I might very well fail , but it would not be because I failed to try! I have now been painting since 1996 and it has filled many happy hours for me. I am mainly self taught, with a little help from some very good instuctional books. And NO , I will never paint like the above named artists, but i enjoy doing it and maybe you will find a moments' enjoyment from some of my art work. I hope so !
