Ahmed Elsaedi    Ahmed Elsaedi

Elsaedi studied at the "Hochschule für Musik"
in Vienna with Othmar Suitner (conducting),
Friedrich Cerha (composition) and
Franz Eibner (theories of Heinrich Schenker).
He has also studied musical phenomenology
and conducting with Sergui Celibidache in Germany.

Maestro Elsaedi has appeared in Austria, Brazil,
Bulgaria, Canada, Egypt, England, Slovakia, Germany,
Italy, Poland, Tunisia, Turkey, Hungary, France, USA,
Croatia, South Korea and Mexico.

Elsaedi is currently the Music Director and the Principal Conductor of the Cairo
Symphony Orchestra since 1996.

His international debut took place in Vienna at the �Wiener Konzerthaus� in 1982.
Since then, Elsaedi has conducted the National Slovakian Chamber Orchestra of
Zilina, the Prague Chamber Soloists, the Suk Chamber Orchestra, the Seoul Royal
Symphony Orchestra, the Slesian Philharmonic, the Opole Philharmonic, the Wroslaw
Philharmonic, the Rio de Janeiro Philharmonic, the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra,
the Lithuania National Symphony Orchestra, the Milikin Decatin Symphony
Orchestra, the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, the Adana State Symphony
Orchestra, L�Orchestre de la Societe Philharmonique de Montreal, the Gyor
Philharmony, the Szczecinie Philharmonic Orchestra, the Paris Sinfonietta Orchestra,
the Bourgas Philharmonic, the Catania Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra "Jean-
Louis Petit" and the Orquesta Sinfonica de la Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon.

His concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in
London was a great success.
He was music director of the Wiener Virtuosen from 1986 to 1988 and has received international praise.

Engagements for the next season include the Icelandic Opera, the West Virginia
Symphony Orchestra, the Tulare County Symphony, the Bahia Blanca Symphony,
the Lublin Philharmonic among others.

Elsaedi�s debut as an Opera conductor in 1991 with Mozart�s Opera "Le Nozze Di
Figaro" conducted from the keyboard, was highly acclaimed by both press and music
lovers. His �Don Giovanni� in 1992 reaffirmed his position as a genuine Mozart Opera
Conductor.

Engagements for 1994/1995 season included "Die Zauberfloete" at Sofia National
Opera and "Cosi Fan Tutte" with the "Junge Opera Wien"
His interpretation of "Aida" (July 1997) at the Verdi Festival in Plovdiv was highly
praised by the public.

Maestro Elsaedi�s tours with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra to Berlin, Vienna
and Paris (April 1996), France and Croatia (July/August 1998) was a tremendous
success and led to further engagements for the seasons 2000 and after.

His numerous compositions range from works for chamber music combinations and
works for big orchestra. His latest works such as "Passacaglia" for strings,
"Taquassiem" for clarinet and strings and miniatures for Orchestra aspire to a
synthesis of western form together with an oriental idiom.

Elsaedi�s recordings with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra include the complete piano
concerts of Ludwig van Beethoven with Ramzi Yassa as soloist and the complete
Beethoven symphonies.

In 1995 Ahmed Elsaedi was awarded the highly state prize for composition. He has
also been included in many international biographical publications.
