The Band originally formed in the early mid 70's and saw area sucess as a club and high school dance band, splitting up later and breaking into several locally sucessful groups. Then in 1977 reformed with original members Roger Haley on guitar, Carrol Dollens on guitar, with Randy Jones on bass guitar, and Dikki Barnes on drums and percussion. After several months of Rehersals meZmer put it's Show to the test at the local High School far surpassing anything scene in the area and quickly established the band as The Biggest Little Concert band in the area. Hittin the stage with a sound and a show that seemed to hypnotize the audience leading to the saying "Get Mezmerized" Which fueled the fire of the fans and followers alike calling themselves MezHeads and the girls calling themselves Mezmerettes. With area High Schools booking the band a year in advance meZmer moved on to conquer the College and Night club scene about this time Jimi Foreman was brought into the band to handle the ever increasing range of vocals and add the dynamic front man the band needed so to allow the band members to concentrate more on the Music and to augment the already Powerhouse Quartet. Musical Differences in 1980 lead to the departure of Carrol Ray to pursue other musical interests... Frosty Vestal was then brought in bringing to the band a Southern/Blues Style to the group..... For the next Four Years MEZMER Dominated the Midwest area preforming Concerts & Shows at County Fairs, Bars & Clubs, all thru the Midwest and the Heart of the Heartland... After a while all the Shows,Tours and Recording Schedule of the past years began to take its toll on Dikki and the Band... The Group for various Family, Religous and Musical Reasons Parted ways....
