adobe photoshop elements: faded text
This is the tutorial on how to make fading text on Adobe Photoshop Elements 1.0. Look at the image below and follow the steps.
1. Type out your text. We are going to use a dark red here.
NOTE: First off, make sure your text is on a layer that is ABOVE your image. If not, this will affect the whole image and not the text.
2. Click on the 'Eraser' tool on the toolbar on the side.
3. Afterwards, with the Eraser activated, go to the top. Around there should be an 'Opacity' bar. Lower it a little bit.
4. Go to your text and erase over it. It shouldn't completely erase like usual, but actually just fade the text a bit.
NOTE: This will 'Simplify' the layer, meaning you cannot edit the text unless you go to Edit > Undo, or Edit > Step Backward.
5. Lowering the 'Opacity' number makes it look less faded, much like number 2's text on the image.
6. Raising the Opacity makes it more faded. See number 3 on the image? It was erased with a much bigger Opacity than number 2 had.
And that's about it. =]
