Just a few hints with using added macro lenses |

When it comes to getting closer than what you normally can with just the settings on your camera eg: macro setting, there are a few new tricks to learn. Some cameras with added on lenses like Mike has made or even a reversed lens, will still auto focus and some camera's wont. The trick to it, is that now you have another lens on front of the camera, if it does not autofocus with it, is to simply move back and forward untill it snaps into focus, then take the photo. With my camera it does still auto focus but it can be annoying in that it keeps shifting focus all the time, so I turn my autofocus off and just move in and out untill it does focus. |

Depth of field is the one area that can cause major problems. If you can, always close down as much as possible unless you only need a couple of inches of depth. When we close down the lens for more depth of field, we then need more light, either the flash that Mike has made or an old one you may have lying around will do the trick as long as you use a small flash slave to fire the flash from your inbuilt one if you have one. Once again, trial and error is the best way to learn. Write down the settings used if needed to refer back to them. After awhile, it will all become automatic and you will have no problems what so ever. |

A final note |
Please dont let any of this frighten you from trying any of this out. We can assure you, you will be taking great macros in no time at all. Try, try and try again, if you dont have success in the first few attempts dont let it throw you, we all had to go through the same things but the rewards once you understand, will both amaze you and benifit us all. |

From Mike and Danny, we wish you all the very best and hope we can see the results of what you acheive. |
