Recently, there are countless of manufacturers have introduced tiny digital cameras to the market. Most of them have claimed that their digital cameras are the smallest digital cameras available in the market. Whether their claims are valid or not, is very hard to be sure. Anyway, the following are some of them which I have found on the net.
The Cubik has 1.3 million pixel CMOS that captures images at 1280x1024.
The 16mb memory stores 50 1280x1024 or 99 640x512 low-res pictures. It can even capture up to 90 second silent movie and works as a webcam.
The Snap weights 37 grams and can snap up to 26 640x480 (or 104 320x240) photos at a time. Something exciting about this tiny camera is that
while the Snap is attached to your computer its battery automatically charges.
A 2 hour charge lasts long enough for about 12 "rolls" of 26 pictures each.
And not to mention its capability of recording up to 10 second AVI silent movies.
The Splash is based on the very popular Spyz camera, with many similar functions: 640x480 photos are stored on the upgraded internal flash memory (219 normal quality, 155 high quality images, or 54 seconds of AVI movie clips). It can also function as a web camera. A new Macro mode allows the Splash to take photos of objects as close at 20cm.
The new comer EXILIM EX-S1 from Casio is a credit-card-sized digital camera. It is only 11.3 mm thick, 88 mm wide x 55 mm high and weighs a mere 86 g, excluding the battery and memory card. The EXILIM has a 1/2.7", 1.31 million pixel CCD and 1280 x 960 dpi standard image size. The optical viewfinder is supplemented by an innovative 1.6" digital display supplying clear and bright pictures full of contrast.
The Nideo Digital Camera measures 2.2 inches long, 1.8 inches wide, and a svelte half-inch thick. It's just a little bigger than a pack of Tic Tacs.
It is made by SSI, a company based in Taiwan.
