Okay, so I was just messing; that profile's basically a reference to people who always send those darned surveys. Btw, ppl, I delete most forwards w/o looking at them.
Anyhow, the real scoop on me... Yeesh. *shrug* Lessee. Gonna ramble, so I apologize in advance.
I used to be real big on WWF, but with the turn things have taken lately, I've stopped watching. Still rooting for Lita (the attitude really drives me), although I personally think the Hardy Boys suck. The Dudley Brothers seem either under or over hardcore; Crash and company is like a freak show waiting to be bombed. So guy-wise, I gotta go with Dead Men Walking; Undertaker and Kane both have style. Right.
I'm into RPGs, too-- Baldur's Gate, Lords of Magic, Warcraft, Starcraft, Dink Smallwood, Well of Souls, ZombieMUD, Ancient Anguish. I like IFs (I use HTMLTads and Z-runner and HexMan, all courtesy of GMU. I'm a beta-tester for textfire, although I've been idle recently. My real passing is MUDs-- text-based gaming... I started out at the age of 12 on Gemstone 3, back when it was still in beta form and free for AOL users. Dabbled once or twice in DragonRealms, but back then DR was too complex for me. I think my G3 character's prob'ly long gone by now, but no matter. I MUD like mad, and that ain't no joke.
I enjoy lots of different kinds of music, and so I'm rejected by all the hardcore groups who each believe that their one genre is the absotively-posolutely-bestest-one-and-anyone-who-doesn't-agree-is-a-traitor-to-be-dragged-out-and-shot. *roll* I usually don't have the patience for classical or jazz. Some blues and country I don't mind, and a few songs I actually like (i.e. John Denver's "Annie," which doesn't even SOUND like country). Certain types of pop is okay; I automatically hate boy-bands and chick-solo-drone-clones (i.e. Brandy, Monica, Billy, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, etc), but some songs wouldn't be so bad if they just weren't overplayed so darned much. I generally like alternative, punk, rock, and metal. Particularly anything in anything with a good beat-- I love to dance! I've never had the patience or time to stick to swing dancing to learn more than a few tricks beyond the basics, but I still know how to have a good time. >;) Fairly current list of fave bands/artists: New Found Glory, SR-71, Semisonic, Good Charlotte, Savage Garden, Wheatus, Blink 182, and Staind.
I love sports. Except baseball/softball-- for some reason I just really SUCK at that. Ironic, isn't it, with the phallic symbolism and whatnot, wotwot? *snort* Football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, wrestling... *shrug* Wish I was good at archery!
But yeah. I love to read fiction novels (fantasy, sci-fi, horror). Stephen King is a brilliant writer! ..He's got a way with prose that I can only dream of as a poet. It's insane! (You know what I mean, Kaz!) The other top-notch authors on my list of must-reads include Robert Jordan, Mercedes Lackey, and Anne McCaffrey.
Yeh, yeh, laff all ya want. I'm a poet shmoet, so sue me. I'm an artist at heart who hasn't found a real focus yet; I'm decent to pretty good in lots of art forms-- sculpture, sketching, charcoal, watercolor, pencil, pen, poetry, prose. It's crazy when I need to be looking at other things, but I gotta admit that it's not about contributing to the world. Heck, it's more about self-expression. Sounds a bit selfish when I phrase it that way, but that's the way the cookie crumbles in this situation. I'm a writer and an artist before I'm many other things. I see something and I think, "If only there were paints to match those shades and hues." I hear a noise and I think of some inane adjective to describe it. Why, I even come out of the blue and BOOM I get fixated on a particular phrase because it sounds good-- those of you who've known me for awhile probably know what I'm talking about. *chuckles wryly and skips to the next subject briefly*
When it comes to soul-revealing, I'm squeamish. I'm manipulative in that way, granted, but I just prefer people to be puzzled/ignorant/assumptuous about me. In the long run, it tends to be easier, not to mention a LOT more fun for me. *peer* *sigh* *grimace* Yea. Well, I guess that's 'nuff for now.
