Other people about Nsync…

(the quotes and pictures were collected by myself on March 25th 2002 and was given permission to be posted at dirtypop.net)

98 Degrees from the liner notes to Revelation: "A big shout-out to N'Sync - it's been awesome to watch you guys rise to the top. No one deserves it more.

And From Jeff (Of 98 degrees): We've been good friends since we went on tour with *NSYNC about a year and a half ago. They're very down-to-earth, very talented guys."

Late R&B singer Aaliyah: "*NSYNC is my favorite boyband. I just like them. I think they're hot! Justin has so much soul, and they make really good music."

Blaque: Those boys are great. I mean, they put their energy into their show. They go home, they practice, they're talented, and they're amazing, and I can't take nothing from them. They're like brothers to us, We kick it with them on off times.

Bloodhound Gang: "Personally, I'd rather hang out with them than most bands. They're really down-to-earth people. I thought it would be fun to mix it up and see what happens."

BT: "They're so cool and levelheaded," BT said. "I know people that are extras in films that have more attitude than them." Then he heard his new friends sing. "I thought, 'Hang on a second. These guys may be a groomed, commercialized thing, but they are really talented.”

Boyz II Men (Vibe Magazine): "We enjoy Nsync, they're very talented and can sing live very well. They are true entertainers and performers."

Aaron Carter: “I'm not even a fan of Backstreet Boys...I'm sorry. I'm sorry Nick, Brian and the other guys. Actually you know what. If I said this it would be really upsetting but I'm a fan of *NSYNC. I like *NSYNC. You know.. I just like their music a lot more..It's just funner to listen to. The only Backstreet music I like...Their music now has achieved more older audience so it's like the younger kids are just like wow...and it's like 'Mom you can listen to this, I'm going to go listen to *NSYNC’”

Fred Durst: "I think those guys are talented - I have nothing against them," Fred said of 'N Sync at the IAM.com party at Quixote Studios, adding, "I actually think they're better than Backstreet." Would he want to collaborate with the dudes perhaps? "You never know. I wouldn't count anything out in this business."

Gloria Estefan: "'N Sync get a bum rap. People think that they're not real, but they're totally real, and they work like animals. They do their own arrangements and choreography. They're young, but they've grown up in an amazingly complex world, so it's no surprise they're so mature."

Art Garfunkel: "When you're talking about 'N Sync, I think you're talking about singers who are quite good. I think 'N Sync will have a future that goes beyond kids music."

Michael Jackson: “Thanks to *NSYNC. I am so honored to call you guys my friends. You are so talented."

Joe:(MTV Interview With Joe)
MTV: Not a lot of people can say they worked with the late, great Big Pun. And you got to work with 'NSYNC on "I Believe In You." That's a combo, huh?
Joe: Yes, it definitely is. They are such a great group to work with.
MTV: Everybody says that about them. What makes 'NSYNC special? I mean, you're quite a singer. Are those guys serious vocalists, as near as you can tell?
Joe: They're definitely a good group. Justin and J.C., I like to say they've got, like, a black voice. They sing like black guys and everything. It was a lot of fun to work with them.
MTV: It's like they're in the church, kind of. And Justin has that background.
Joe: It's almost like that, definitely. I mean, when they came in they were just so excited to work with me, and it was like, "Wow, this is 'NSYNC. I'm Joe. This is 'NSYNC." And they came in and delivered incredible vocals. And they had to do, I think, the "Today" show the next morning. They got out of the studio at five, and they had to do the "Today" show at six in the morning, so they were really excited about doing [the song]. That was real cool.

Also from Joe: "This is the first collaboration that I've done for my [own] record and I'm pretty excited about that. And the guys were so easy to work with, so professional. I mean, they came in and they stayed until it was finished. They got out of the studio at about four o'clock in the morning."

Kid Rock: A few months back, Kid Rock was on a local radio station in Detroit and somehow the "boy bands" came up. Kid made some comment about how he hangs out with the NSYNC boys sometimes because "those guys like to party and get wild. They're always chasing girls and stuff." The DJ was like, "Can you name names?" and Kid was like, "If you tell me their names, then I'll tell you." This is the good part...The DJ was like, "Did you say in NSYNC or Backstreet?" and Kid was like "Both, but the NSYNC guys are much cooler." He went on to name Joey ("the big one") and Chris ("the one with the thing on top of his head") as the partiers, and said that Justin went to a show once. He also said, "I'm like, you guys are cool so we can hang out, just don't start singing in front of me or nothing."

Also from Kid Rock: "No offense to the Backstreet Boys, but the commercial that *N SYNC did for McDonald's was way cooler than the one that the Backstreet Boys did for Burger King."

Jordan Knight: “I think they are really good. *NSYNC is kicking butt. I know them, so it makes it better.

Jennifer Lopez: "I love *NSYNC. They have great voices, they make great music, and they're cute!!"

Joey McIntyre (fromerly of NKOTB) in Entertainment Weekly: "All of the new groups aren't doing anything different than we were, but N Sync is my favorite. I look in their eyes and I see that they're at the point where they've got the world by the balls and they're having a good time. It's all about hanging onto that and seeing if you can. I actually think they can transcend the whole boy-band thing."

Brian McKnight:"Justin is the little white brother that I never had, let me just say that. I've known him since he was, like, 9, and he's probably the greatest young singer that's out there. I want people that denigrate boy bands to understand that this kid is the real thing, and that's why I put him on my record."

Moby:"There are some things that I should probably keep to myself...like the fact that I went to see *NSYNC last night at Giants stadium. I went for the same reason that my father went to see the Beatles at Shea stadium in 1964, to see the teen-pop phenomenon up close. And what a phenomenon it was...I have to say that the *NSYNC concert was one of the most technically impressive shows that I've ever seen. They must have a lot of money to play around with, cos the production for this one show was probably more than the gross national product of Malaysia. And, to their credit, their show was actually very smart and funny. I was impressed. I'm not going to run out and buy their records, but the show was really impressive.”

Nelly: "He's [Justin] a cool dirty," Nelly said of their relationship. "Once I found out he was from Memphis, that sewed it up for me. I was like, 'OK, I see you in a whole new light. You Memphis family.' I meet up with [him] at different parties. It's hard [to hang out] 'cause he's crazy busy. I'm ripping and running as well. We ain't really got a chance to sit down and kick it, but we always got that, 'I'mma call, I'mma call. We'll chill.' "

Sisqo: *NSYNC, in my personal opinion, is the illest singing group. I know you have your rock groups, your this group, your that group, but as far as singing groups, *NSYNC shuts them down. They [are] the illest, period. Nobody can out-dance them, out-sing them. Their image is tight. Being a part of their tour last summer was definitely an iconic moment for me, because it brought "The Thong Song" to a whole other audience. When I'd walk out there with the six-pack and the booty and the parents in the first row — thank you, guys, for letting me traumatize America with you”

And also from Sisqo: "I just like good music, especially when you see groups like *NSYNC that's just putting a lot of other R&B groups to shame with their dance moves and things of that nature," he said. "Plus, their musicality on the albums is really intricate. I know, in the beginning, when the whole boy band flurry came, everybody was kind of thinking it was a joke. But being a musician myself and listening to groups like *NSYNC's album and listening to all the different intricate melodies and harmonies, and music that they use, it's not a joke no more." (ahem. musicality??? AHAHAHA!)

Jon Stewart: In the December 14 issue of Rolling Stone, Jon Stewart (of the "Daily Show") was asked about the best thing that happened to him in 2000. He replied: "The best thing other than winning survivor? Like most people, I want to say 'N Sync's new album. But a man can only dance so much."

Timbaland On the hip-hop and R&B station (92.3 The Beat): "NSYNC went to like, a whole new level. They really shocked me, their album is dope."

Travis (from Blink 182 on TRL): "Actually, I like them. We've had the chance to meet with them several times and they are really cool guys, and they are like the one boyband or whatever who are really cool, and they are talented."
