| Welcome to the sparse, yet growing, new creative home on the web. EC is a website, a literary/DIY/creative website, designed with only one thing in mind: young people with a desire to create something who feel like they have no place to share it, or no one to share it with. I've been there before - young and idealistic, wanting to get my voice heard, my vision seen, but too afraid of the big stars already ingrained in any form of media I sought out. It seemed pointless to wave my small, meager hand in the air and try to speak when so many others, so many others better than me, were doing it already - and had been for a while. Since my early days, I've realized there is a place for everyone, even if you have to make that place yourself. I started doing that, and I found that beyond the desire to be heard and seen, I had a stronger desire to get others heard and seen with me. Surely I couldn't have been the only DIY grrrl drowning in a sea of settled, strong, and beautiful artists and creators. Everyone I saw looked better than me, more stable, more out there, but then I started talking to people, and saw that I wasn't the only one who thought that way. And I really want to change that. EC is a community for artists of all kinds - those involved in the traditional sense of creating visual, written, or performance art; but also those who try a different outlet, creating change in our lives, communities, or world. Whether you're published or have had galleries or been in some other way spotlighted, or you've never shown anyone anything you've ever made, you're welcome here. No one will seem bigger than anyone else, no one will be dwarfed. We're all artists, creating something in our own way. We're a brotherhood, a sisterhood, a community. We're all equal and we're all beautiful. So check out the various links and pages around EC. Like I said, the site is still a baby, but things are being added almost every day.
