The Prognosis of Self

The highest instinct held in regard to man's nature is self-deffense and self-preservation. But like-wise the self also has its own laws. They are attributed to what composes the self. The first is identity, and the second is stimulation. Without either of which you have no direct "self" but rather a combination of lost identity and pretentiousness. None of which, do a Satanist make.

In order for one to completely "be at one" with him or herself, and hold any self-recognition or interest he or she must maintain an identity. Identities are granted through self-exploration, expansion of ideas delivered through socialization, or relations with other people. Providing an excersize artifice for the ego, and establishing a stronger tenure on who exactly one is. Without this, the identity of a particular person becomes diluted and watered-down. Almost always at the expense of one's emotions as well. In essence, once the person's identity and self-recognition becomes watered-down, so does all else that encompasses that person.

Where an identity is not readily available, or were one is more easily accessible than through genuine self-interest, a person will seek out that of another's. The very mother of pretentiousness. By making bravado claims, masturbating his ego, he can easily bestow upon himself anything he wants. Wearing the mask of his favorite TV or movie actor, musician, artist, writter, and so forth. It is the easiest way and is nearly devoid of any energy expendature on his part. Making it all the more easy to become a ten-cent God while psyhcologically riding the coattails of his big-screen personna. This is the very same disease that afflicts pseudo-Satanists, quasi-Goths, and wannabes. Even unto the very gates and tent-flaps of The Church of Satan itself.

Satanism can provide an easy accessible identity to the feebleminded. Like any other religion, it becomes insulted and affronted with a delluge of "individuals" using it as a crutch for their monopedal, one-legged minds. These labels are the eat and drink of the poseur. They place instant recognition with others without effort or talent. If it serves as a goodguy-badge and doubles as a claim to fame, all the better. Without an intantly appliable label, they would be nothing. (This would explain the sudden upcropping of overnight Black Magcians, "Future shock-rock stars", and sheep in wolves clothing.)

Stimulation is the second requirement for self-sustainment. Without mediums in which to excersize and build the ego, you will often find yourself without the provisions to maintain even a simple identity. Once this element is lacking, the person is then forced to resort to applying an instant label as mentioned above. It is the calling card of the weak. Where there is no stimulation, it will either be made or improvised. (Improvision being the worse of the two.) They can neither recognize this, or care to do anything about it. It's what keeps their miserable existances in tact.

There are so many examples of empty posturous, and pretentious stimulation devices. Ranks, titles, awards, empty-recognition from others, acknolwedgments from superior individuals, and lest we forget: Labels used best for shock-value. If the above does not suffice for proper ego-food, than the last resort would (hopfully) be self-exploration and expansion.

The poseur does not die happy or satisfied. He dies lonely, and hungry for recognition without the realization all of his ability for true acclaim, lies right beneath his very nose. At this time, full of regret and self-inflicted anguish, he and his ego perrish. The one and only true Eternal Damnation.
