Jamie's TTC Journal

August 11, 2000
I haven't written in a while.  I'm officially on my sabbatical, which is 6 weeks, PAID!  So far, I am enjoying it a lot.  The reason I have not written more is that I used to do most of my web work from work, where my connection was much faster than at home.  Once my sabbatical started, I could not access my work computer, and just checking my e-mail is a much more tedious task, so I figured that working on the web page was out.  We are looking into the possibility of a DSL line, but they may not come out to our area yet.  At this point, I am at my mom's house in Santa Barbara, using her computer and taking advantage of the speedy internet access.

So, for the last few days, I've been puttering around the house, working in my garden, cooking, and generally being a housewife.  What a strange and bizarre feeling that is. One that I'm enjoying, though, to be sure.

I leave tomorrow for Family Camp, and will be there for the week.  I won't have access to any hpts or labs for bloodwork, so will just have to wait until next weekend to find out whether or not this cycle worked.  This will be strange for me, as I'm usually "Johnny-on-the-spot" on cd28/14 dpo.  I'm purposefully not taking any hpts up to Camp with me.  My theory is this.  If I am pregnant, there is nothing I can do except to keep taking my prenatals, my progesterone, and my baby aspirin.  If I'm not pregnant, I'll continue to take my prenatals, progesterone and baby aspirin anyway.  The prenatals and baby aspirin are a constant, and the progesterone would lengthen my cycle since I'll be away from my doctor and unable to start a new cycle anyway.  So, I'll test when I get home on Friday or Saturday, then if positive (which it should be if I am pregnant, since it would be 19 dpo) then I'll go to the lab on Monday morning for a beta.  If negative, then I would be clearly not pregnant, stop taking my progesterone, and wait for AF to show up.

Since I'll be gone all week, I won't be writing again until after I return.  At that point I should have some answers either way.  Stay tuned...
