Monday evening

Today's a normal day like any other. TK's over after school for dinner but I know it isn't just for dinner... He seems to be acting somewhat different. Especially today. He's grown up a lot in the last year. The TV is boring tonight. There's not much on so I decide to watch TK from the corner of my eye instead. He's staring blankly at the TV. I know it's not the TV he's concentrating on. It's something else. He has something on his mind...

"What's up, TK?" 
My sudden words bring him back to reality. He blinks and looks at my neutral expression. He knows I know him to well for him to keep something from me. He knows any and all attempts to make me believe that nothings the matter will fail. I wait patiently for a response as I try to read his thoughts.
"Matt, have you ever been in love before?" He says in a weak voice trying to keep the question casual.
I think for a moment. The person who I truly love pops into my mind for a split second. I push that thought out of my mind knowing that I couldn't tell TK about that situation. At the moment it just doesn't seem right to bring it up when I was trying to help TK not myself...

"No, I haven't. I've never loved a girl before" I say not taking my eyes of T.
"What about a boy?" He asks quietly.
I'm speechless. I don't know what to say. What am I suppose to say? He begins to blush like crazy. His eyes darting around to room now as he tries so hard not to make eye contact.
"TK, do you fancy a boy?" I ask him gently.
He stares down at the carpet before he replies.
"Yes."
"How long have you felt this way?" 
Ok so I know that's not the best question but I have to know if this is a phase or something more.
"About a year now."
He's starting to sound a bit more relaxed. I start to think of what to say next but I don't have to worry because he starts to speak again.
"I've kept this bottled up inside me way too long. You're the I feel I can come to with this."
"You did the right thing coming to me about this. You shouldn't keep things bottled up" I say trying to comfort him some more.
"You're not ashamed of me?" He asks almost scared.
"What? Of course not. You're my little brother. I love you no matter what."
"Really?" He asks skeptically.
"Yes! Come here."
We both stand up and hug. I try to show him that the way I feel about him hasn't changed. He is still the same caring person he always was. He responds to my gesture strongly. Hugging me back tightly. I think he feels relieved of how I reacted.

"TK" I pause for a moment to take in another breathe before I continue. "Who is the boy?" I ask cautiously.
He stares back at me probably wondering whether or not to answer the question. He cleared his throat before he spoke.
"Well it's Tai" he says trying to keep his face expressionless.
I look back at him shocked. He seems to be getting nervous again.
"I would of never of guessed that you like Tai" I find myself saying.
He gave me a weak smile.
"Well another reason why I came to you is because I know you have feelings for Tai too and I wanted to know how you would feel if I did something about it."
My mouth falls open. 'He knows? How the hell does he know?' I know there's no point in denying it. Anyway, he's been honest with me so I may as well be honest with him.
"How did you know?"
"Oh come on" he starts to laugh. "I see the way you look at him. Plus, you always talk about him in your sleep!"
"What?" I start to blush like crazy.
"Oh Tai! I love you Tai" TK starts to imitate me.
"TK!" I try to shut him up.
We both end up laughing hysterically.

"TK?"
"Yeah?" He asks.
"Maybe it isn't such a good idea to tell Tai about this while he's going out with Sora." I say in a concerned tone.
"Yeah I guess you're right" TK said looking thoughtful.
"I wasn't going to. It's just that I heard things weren't so hot between them." TK says.
"Really?" I say a bit too happily.
TK looks at me.
"You really love him and you want him, don't you?" TK asks trying to sound normal.
"I'm not going to lie to you TK but I do love him" I say wanting to be really honest with him.
"I understand" he says.
'I don't know what to say next. What am I suppose to say? That I want him to go after Tai and I hope they are very happy together? Hell no, I love him and I always have. I know I'm been selfish but I'd do anything to get Tai.'
We both sit back down on the couch. Both of us not really sure what to say so we just sit there and stare at the TV.

Tuesday morning

Mimi drops her bag to the floor and slumps down beside it. She sits on the cold bathroom floor. Her body is motionless but her mind isn't. Thoughts and questions are racing around in her mind at full speed. It's one of those bad days. You know the ones. Where nothing goes right and you just feel like giving up. This is defiantly a bad day for Mimi. She doesn't have bad days that often. She's usually in high spirits. Not today though. You see Mimi is in love with Tai. The only problem is Tai is going out with her best friend Sora for about a month now. She sighs heavily as she thinks back to her party she had two weeks ago.

***FLASHBACK***

Saturday night

Mimi was in her kitchen mixing up some more cocktails when she heard someone behind her. She spun around and saw Tai standing beside her.
"Hey Tai" she said smiling.
"Hey Mimi" Tai replied.
"You making more drinks?"
"Yep. You want some?"
"Of course I do!" Tai said while moving closer to Mimi.

Mimi blushed a little while she poured him a glass.
'Is he coming on to me?' She thought to herself.
She knew he was pretty drunk but she still couldn't shake the feeling of that he actually does like her. Tai knocked back the drink, licked his lips while looking at her and smiled. She stared right back into his eyes. She took his glass of him and placed it down on the counter. When she turned back around he was still looking at her.
"What?" She asked innocently.
"Oh like you don't know"
Mimi looked back at him confused.
"Well actually I don't know. Do you mind telling me?" She asked with a bit of a laugh.
"Well I'd rather show you" Tai said confidently.
"Huh?" Mimi asked getting more confused.
"Well I've always been thought that actions speak louder than words."
"Yeah but..."
"Shhhh" Tai silenced her by putting his finger across her lips and moving his hand around her waist.
Before Mimi could say anything, Tai tilted her head up and pressed his lips to hers. Mimi put her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. Tai's arms encircled her waist and they passionately kissed each other. Tai pulled away slightly and began kissing her neck.
"Oh Tai"
Mimi's mind was screaming to push him away but her body was not responding she felt like she could just have him right there and then. Just then she heard someone approach. They both jumped away. Sora walked in. Mimi was overcome with guilt.
"Hey babe" Tai said while kissing Sora on the cheek.
Mimi felt sick.
"Hey I was looking for you. You ready to go?" Sora asked Tai.
"Yeah sure, I'll grab our coats."
Tai walked out of the room. Mimi tried to look normal.
"You're leaving already?"
"Yeah, well my mom isn't at home so we thought we could go there and sleep together. We haven't had sex in ages!"
"Oh ok"
"Well I'll probably see you tomorrow. Thanks for inviting us. Bye!"
"Bye" Mimi said as she watched Sora and Tai exit her house.

***END FLASHBACK***

'Why did Tai kiss me? Was he just messing with my head or was he just drunk?' She asks herself.
'I can't believe he just kissed me and then went of and had sex with Sora! I was so stupid to kiss him. I mean the next day he acted like nothing happened and he told everyone he didn't remember a thing. Did he say that so I would hopefully forget about it or did he honestly forget happened?'
Mimi frowns at the memory. She decides that she should get to class. The last thing she needs is a detention. She pulls herself up, grabs her bag and exits the bathroom, keeping her mind on the French vocab that she has to learn for homework.

Tuesday morning

'Would you...No...Can you...Hey guess what?...No that's not it! God damn you Joe why can't you do this?' I think to myself. 
'Why do I find it so hard to ask her out? I mean why can't I find it easy like Tai?' I frown to myself and continue searching for my French book in my locker.
'Hypothetically  speaking if I ever do ask her out and for some strange reason she says yes where do I bring her? What do I talk to her about? Should I kiss her?'
I smile to myself in triumph as I finally spot my French book hiding in the back. I pull it out and stuff it in my bag while those questions are still floating around in my mind. I slam the locker door shut, grab my bag, fling it over my shoulder and proceed to my French class.
'I'm going to be sitting beside her in this class. I have to ask her today. It's been going on too long!' I sigh to myself.
I reach the classroom, enter and sit down.
'Will you go on a date with me?...No that's stupid! What are you doing Saturday night?...No not that either! Oh I'm useless at this!'
"Hey Joe"
"Mimi hi!" I say a little too excitedly.
I mentally scald myself as she sits down beside me.
"Have you learnt all this?" She says while pointing at her book.
"Well kinda, but it was kinda hard" I say trying not to stare at her too much.
"Yeah I know what you mean" she says while smiling.
I can't help but to smile back.
'It's now or never.'
I take a deep breath.
"Hey Mimi?" I start while my heart is pounding so loud that I swear that everyone in the room can hear it.
"Hmm" she says looking up from her book.
"Would you like..."
"Bonjour classe!"
Everyone groaned as the teacher came in.
"Ok ok settle down everyone" the teacher says.
Mimi groaned. "Well this is going to be an exciting class" she says sarcastically and turns around to face the teacher.
'She obviously didn't know what I was going to ask her. Maybe it was for the best. I'll ask her tomorrow!' I mentally scald myself again. 
'I've said that for ages! I'll never get to ask her out, will I!?"
I feel a small nudge.
"Hey"
I look beside me and see Mimi looking at me. I give her a questionely look. She makes a nodding gesture towards the teacher.
'Uh oh'
I look up at the teacher who is staring at me with his arms folded.
"Monsieur Kido!" The teacher booms.
"Merci Monsieur" I say half heartedly.
He narrows his eyes at me.
"I will ask you again, what's computer in French s'il vous plait?"
"Eh...cartable no...eh...prochaine..." I trail off.
"Monsieur Kido!" The teacher barks. "Did you learn any of your vocab?"
'Oh crap'
"Yes Monsieur I did" I say trying not to be embarrassed.
The whole class including Mimi turn and stare at me. I can feel myself going redder and redder.
"I highly doubt that!" The teacher says crossly.
To my relief he turns to another pupil and starts to torture them.
'Oh man, I looked a right fool in front of Mimi!'
I felt someone tug me lightly. I turn to see Mimi smiling at me.
"You ok?" She mouths to me.
I smile at her and nod my head. She gives me a really nice smile. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Tuesday lunch time

Something's been bothering him. I'm not quite sure what it is. All I know is that it is something big. I'm actually quite surprised that I don't know what's going on. I'm usually very good at sousing people out when it comes to problems. Especially my friends problems. I'm not the only person who has noticed that something's wrong. Other people and even teachers have started noticing that he wasn't himself. Most of the people would come to me and ask what's wrong. They know we are close friends so they thought he would come to me and tell me what's wrong. He hasn't though. The teachers are starting to get really annoyed with him. He stares blankly out the window and he's always late bringing his homework in. Ok I know he is usually late bringing his homework in but he has seemed to be getting worse. Why won't he tell me what's wrong? He use to tell me everything.

"Sora? Sora?"
"What" I say as I snap out of my deep thoughts and look at him.
"Are you ok? You looked like you were in a different world" he says.
"I'm ok"
"What were you thinking about?" He asks curiously.
"I've been thinking about you, Matt" I say suddenly.
He looks even more curious now. He raises one eyebrow and looks at me. I wonder if he knows what I was thinking about.
"What about me were you thinking about" he asks.
"Well I was wondering why would you not come to me with your problem."
"But I don't have a problem" he says lowly.
"Yes you do. I know you well enough by now to know if something's bothering you. So come on tell me." I say trying to convince him.
He knows now that once I've sensed that something's wrong with him I won't let it go. He sighs while putting his hand to his forehead and smacks it lightly.
"Ok" he says in defeat.
I remain silent. I wait patiently for him to start. While I am waiting I start to study his face, to try to work out how bad his problem is. He looks really thoughtful. I'm guessing he's trying to think of just the right way to phrase the problem. He finally opens his mouth only to close it again. I frown slightly and decide to reassure him some more.
"You know whatever this is I won't judge you or tell anyone else. You know you can trust me. I just want to help you" I say reassuring him.
I think it worked. He looks more relaxed. He takes in a deep breath and opens his mouth once again.
"Well you see, I really like this person and so does...My friend. I really want to tell this person but..."
"You don't want to hurt your friend" I say finishing his sentence.
"Exactly" he says smiling.
"Maybe you should just go for it" I say.
He quickly loses his smile.
"I can't. The person is going out with someone" he says sadly.
"Oh now I see the problem. Do you know how this person feels about you?" I ask trying to find out the full situation.
"No, but I'm pretty positive they don't feel the same way."
"Well how's this person's relationship with their partner" I ask positively.
"Good, I guess. They seem pretty happy which depresses me even more cause I want to be that happy" he says urgently meeting my gaze.
"Oh Matt" I say and gently hug him. I decide to try my best to cheer him up.
"Don't worry" I start to say. "You will find someone available that likes you too. Don't let this depress you. Lots of people like you and how could they not! You're really good looking, you're kind and caring and you know how to have a good time." I say while gently squeezing him.
It seems to have worked because he's smiling at me now. I smile back at him satisfied that I was able to help my friend.
"Thanks Sora" he says.
"No problem. Anytime you want to chat, you know where to find me!" I say cheerfully.
"Thanks" he says again. "I'm just having one of those days. I'll get over it. It really helped to talk though."

The bell began to ring signaling to us to get ready for our next class. We roll our eyes in unison and force ourselves to get up from our comfortable lunch spot under one of the large trees on the school grounds. We both trud of towards the horrid school building and brace ourselves for math's.

Tuesday after school

"Hey Tai" shouts a familiar voice.
I jump at the sudden sound of my name. It quickly brings me out of my thoughts, that I usually think about on my way home from school. Mostly my life, family, love interests...
The voice was so familiar it's uncanny. It's defiantly Matt. I turn around to see Matt run up to me. He stops in front of me and brushes his blonde hair out of his eyes.
"What's up?" I ask innocently. 
I mean it as an innocent question but Matt flushes a bit. His eyes start darting around, looking everywhere but me. That's when I know there's something up with Matt. I start to study his face searching for anything that would give me a clue as to what's the matter with him. Nothing. I can't work it out. I raise my eyebrow, waiting for him to say something.
"Can I walk home with you?" He asks still avoiding eye contact with me.
"Sure" I say.
We begin walking but not talking. After a few minutes the silence starts getting to me. I decide to try to strike up a conversation.
"So... How was your last band practice?" I ask.
"It was ok" he mumbles.
I frown. Not quite the answer I was looking for. He can usually go on for ages about his band.
"How come your so quiet today?" I press.
He looks sheepishly.
"I'm just tired that's all" he assures me.
"Oh."
"Do you want to do something tonight?" He says eagerly.
"Sorry, I can't. I'm going to the cinema with Sora. There's some chick flick she wants to see."
"Oh" he says going back to his silent state.
I decide to lighten him up. I put my arm around him and mess up his hair.
"Don't worry Matt! We'll do something soon. I won't neglect my best friend!" I say while laughing.
I notice that he's turned red and looks even more flushed.
'What's up with him today?' I think to myself.
I take my arm of him and stop.
"What?" He asks confused.
"Are you ok, Matt?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine" he says as his eyes begin to dart around again.
"You sure?" I ask skeptically.
"Yeah, I told you I'm just a bit tired."
"Liar" I laugh.
He frowns at me.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
"Oh come on, Matt. I've known you long enough to know when something's the matter with you" I say with a smile to try to lighten up the conversation.
It doesn't work.
"Look Tai, I'm fine. I just remembered I have to get home quickly. See ya" he says quickly.
Before I get a chance to say something he begins running in the direction of his apartment. I start after him for a couple of seconds, before I decide to continue walking home.
'What's the matter with Matt?' I ask myself.
'I hope he tells me soon. I'd hate him to be hurting. I care for him too much.'

********

"Davis would you hurry up?" I order him while crossing my arms.
I look around me. The school hall is completely empty. I guess people just can't wait to get out of here. I look beside me, to where TK is leaning against some lockers.
'God, he's hot!' I say to myself.
I can't help but smile. He looks pretty bored. He hates waiting around. Especially for Davis. I decide to force myself to look away. I don't want him to see me staring him out of it. I look over at Davis. He's rummaging through his locker looking for his English assignment.
"Come on Davis, everyone's gone" I inform him.
"Sorry babe, but I can't leave without this assignment" he says while winking at me.
I frown at him, even though I know he won't see it because  he's gone back to searching his locker.
I hate when he calls me that. Especially in front of TK. I look back at TK. He catches my stare and smiles. I smile back at him. My heart begins to race as he looks at me and I blush. Realizing that he might notice I turn away and decide to give out to Davis some more.
"Come on Davis!" I say urgently.
"Yes I found it" he exclaims.
He turns to TK and I grinning while holding up a sheet of paper.
"Finally" TK says almost annoyed.
"Hey TZ no one asked you to stay" Davis says getting angry.
'Oh no' I say to myself.
I hate the way they're always at each other's throats.
"Ok guys come on. Let's just go home without any fights" I say strongly.
"Sure babe, anything for you" Davis says while putting his arm around me.
I push him of me and glare at him while he is happily smiling. 

We finally make it outside the school and begin to walk home.
"Hey Kari?" TK asks.
"Yeah?" I reply.
"Is Tai ok? Matt told me he got injured while playing football" TK explains.
"Oh yeah. He's fine he just had to rest a bit. Nothing too serious" I inform him.
"Oh that's good. Tell him I was asking for him" TK says lowering his voice a bit.
'Is it me or is he blushing a bit?' I think to myself.
"Sure TK I'll tell him" I promise him.
Davis starts waffling on about football. Usually this would end up with TK and Davis arguing about it but not today. I cautiously look at TK with the corner of my eye. He looks deep in thought. I don't even think he's listening to Davis at all. Well that makes two of us I guess. We come to the street where we each go our own way.
"Bye TK, see ya Davis" I say happily.
"See ya babe" Davis says cheerfully ignoring my disapproving glare.
"Bye Kari, I'll see you tomorrow" TK says.
Davis looks at his watch.
"Ah shoot, I'm gonna be late. Later Kari, bye TE" he calls to us while running in the direction of his apartment. Leaving me and TK standing there together alone.
"TK, are you ok?" I ask concerned.
"Huh? Yeah I'm fine" he says in a confused tone.
"I mean...Well...Em, you just seemed a bit distant that's all" I say explaining myself.
"Oh, well I gotta lot on my mind. Ya know, I have loads of basketball matches coming up and I have loads of homework. I guess I'm just a bit tired" he says with a little laugh.
"Oh ok then" I say expecting his excuse though not really believing it.
"Well I should get home. See ya Kari and good luck with studying for that Maths test" he says with a smirk.
I laugh.
"Thanks, I think I'll need it. See ya tomorrow TK" I say cheerfully.

He smiles at me, which makes my stomach go all fuzzy and then he turns around and starts to slowly trod away. I stand there for a few moments and just simply watch him.
'What's going on with him? I know there's something wrong with him' I think to myself.
I decide to turn around and go home noticing that if he turns back and sees me stating at him he'd think I'm weird! I don't know how I'd explain that one. I start walking towards my apartment trying to keep my mind of TK and on anything else that comes into my mind. It doesn't work.

Tuesday night

It's a cool crisp night out. The type of night that you could go for a nice long walk in. I walk briskly through the empty streets clutching a heavy reference book until I come to my friend's door. I ring the doorbell and wait patiently. Within a couple of seconds the door opens.
"Hey Izzy."
"Hey Joe, how are ya?" I greet my friend.
"Fine and you?" He asks.
"Never been better" I say happily.
He shows me into the kitchen and we sit down.
"You want anything to drink?" He asks.
I think for a moment.
"Yeah ok, sure."
He begins to take out two glasses and juice from the fridge.
"Thanks for the reference book, by the way" I say while placing it down on the table.
"Ah no problem. Thanks for returning it" he says while handing me the drink.
I start to smile.
"So, any news?"
"What do you mean" he asks while sitting down.
"Anything you want to tell me about a certain pink-haired person?"
His face drops. I frown.
"You didn't ask her, did you?"
"I tried. I did. I really did, but I couldn't. The teacher started yelling at me" he says with his head down.
"Come on, you have to ask her soon" I say.
"Oh really, you think?" He says in a sarcastic voice.
I ignore it.
"Yes I do think."
He looks at me.
"Look who's talking Mr. I'm going to ask Sora out."
He's right. I know he's right. I waited too long.
"That's exactly my point. I don't want you to make the same mistake. Maybe if I'd asked her before Tai things would of been different. It really messes with your head thinking like that and I don't want you to go through that" I tell him.
He sighs.
"You're right. I'll ask her tomorrow" he says lowly.
"No, you're asking her now" I say forcefully.
He's a little taken aback by my tone. I grab the cordless phone and toss it to him. I know he knows her number of by heart. He looks at the phone and then back at me.
"Well..."
"What am I suppose to say to her?" He pleads.
"Say that you like her and would she like to go on a date with you" I suggest.
Joe slowly punches in the numbers and holds his breath. I sit their waiting, hoping that this is the best thing to do. After a couple of seconds he hangs up.
"What happened? Did she answer?" I ask.
Joe sighs.
"No it was her answering machine" he says somewhat relieved.
"Maybe you should ask her face to face" I say changing my mind.
"Yeah, I agree" he replys.

Tuesday night

I glide my hand through my hair and sigh before I take the plunge and ring the doorbell. It seems to echo though the empty house.
'Maybe she's not in.'
As that thought floats through my mind the door opens. Mimi stands there looking beautiful as always. She looks shocked to see me but I see a glimmer of happiness in her expression.
"Tai, hi. I wasn't expecting you" she manages to stamper.
"I know" I say coolly. "Can I come in."
"Yeah sure."
She steps back and I enter. She closes the door and leads me into her huge modern sittingroom.
"Would you like something to drink?" She asks as her eyes wander up and down my body.
"No thanks" I say returning her stare.
We both sit down in silence. I begin to fell a bit awkward. All I can hear is the ticking from the chrome clock situated on top of the mantelpiece.
"So..." I begin. "How did you enjoy your party" I ask.
She immediately looks me straight in the eye. I know she's thinking of the kiss we shared that night.
"Yeah I had a good time" she confirms.
I move a bit closer. She notices but isn't too sure of what to do. I put my hand up to her face.
"I had a really good time" I almost whisper.
I briefly stroke her cheek. She closes her eyes and sighs. When I retreat my hand she opens her eyes and looks a bit confused by my mixed signals.
"So" I say leaning back into the chair.
"Are you able to do that English essay?" I say in a regular tone.
"Tai!" She says upset.
"What?" I say looking at her.
"Don't you remember what happened between us at the party?" She asks almost in disbelief.
I look at her seductively.
"How could I forget?"
She doesn't know what to say. She simply just stares at me. I move even closer to her and put my arm around her.
"Maybe we can do it again" I whisper to her.
"Tai I..."
"Shhh" I put my finger over her lips. 
She stops and looks into my eyes.
"Don't say anything" I whisper to her.
I gently place my lips on hers and begin to kiss her, forcing my tongue into her mouth. She lets out a little gasp.
I smile to myself as I bring my other arm around her waist. After a few minutes I pull away and look at her. 'She's so beautiful.'
 I smile at her. She returns my smile which makes my feel happy. I gently lie her back and begin to kiss her neck.
"Oh Tai" she murmurs.
She then begins to push me away slightly. I stop kissing her and look at her.
"Tai, we can't do this. It's not fair on Sora."
I sigh heavily and get of her. She sits up.
"Look Mimi" I say taking her hand.
"I just don't fancy her anymore. I was never really in love with her. I always wanted you" I explain.
"Why don't you brake up with her first?" She asks.
"She'll be so upset. She told me so. She is my friend and I don't want to hurt her."
"But..."
"Shhh" I silence her again with my finger.
"Enough talk" I say and kiss her again.
I push her back again.
"It's not right" she says as I trail kisses down her body.
"Hey you can pull away anytime you want" I say smoothly.
She looks up at me.
"What? Are you crazy? If you stop I think I might die!"
I smile at my little victory. I was able to seduce her.
"Come on" I say getting up.
"Where are we going?" She asks.
"Upstairs" I say pulling her up.
"Tai!"
"Hey, it's ok. Don't worry I'll look after you."

I bring the reluctant pink-haired girl upstairs and into her room. She looks nervous. I encircle her waist with my arms and lie her down on the bed. To my shock she pulls me down to her and begins to kiss me passionately while running her fingers through my hair. She traces her fingers down my chest and then pulls of my T-shirt. I pull away from her and begin to unbutton her blouse. I simply stare at her chest yearning for it. Mimi lets out a little laugh.
"Here let me help you" she says while her hands reach behind her back and unclasp her bra.
She then slides the bra of and discards it. I couldn't wait anymore. I grab Mimi by the waist and pull her up to me. I put my mouth to one of her breasts and suck. She moans in pleasure. She pulls my head closer to her. I feel myself go hard. I pull away.
"Tai, please don't stop" she wimpers.
"Hold on baby" I say while I put my hands down to her jeans button.

"I tried to call you last night but you were out. Where were you?"
My heart stops.
"I visited my aunt. She gets lonely sometimes."

They smile at each other and I have to put my hand out to a locker to keep my balance.
"Come on babe. I'll walk you to your class."
"See you later, Mimi" Sora says.
"Later Mimi" Tai says in a neutral tone.
They both walk away. My eyes start to get watery. I feel someone tap my shoulder. I jump and spin around to see Joe.
"Sorry" he says.
"It's ok. I just got a little fright." I say smiling at him.
"Mimi, would you like to go out on a date with me?" He asks quickly.
I'm a bit taken aback by his sudden question. Images of Tai and Sora begin to float around my head.
"I'd love to!" I announce.
"Great" Joe says happily.

Wednesday lunch time

"What?" I turn around looking annoyed at Tai.
"What's the matter?" He asks confused.
I roll my eyes.

"Did last night mean anything to you?" I start.
"What? Of course it did. What do you mean?"
"The way you were acting with Sora this morning."
"What did you expect me to do? Kiss you?"
I throw my arms up. Tai sighs.
"Look, I would of way preferred to kiss you than her" he says slowly.
I give in. I'm too much in love with him to stay angry at him.
"Just kiss me Kamiya."
He pushes me up against the door and we kiss.
"How about we fuck again on Friday night?" He says between kisses.
"I can't."
"Why not?" he asks still kissing me.
"I'm going on a date with Joe."
Tai stops and looks at me. I look straight back at him.
"What?"
"I said I'm going on a date with Joe."
"Yeah I heard ya" he says getting annoyed.
"Why?" He asks bewildered.
"Well, because he's sweet and charming."
"But what about us?"
"Oh ok I get it. So your able to go out with someone and have a good time and just fuck me whenever it suits you!" I say getting really angry.
"What? Mimi, no. I love you" he assures me.
"Yeah whatever" I say turning away from him.
He comes up behind me and puts his arms around me.
"Listen honey, I won't lie to you. I will be jealous if you go out with Joe. But you do have a right to go on a date with him. I was been selfish. I'm sorry" he says apologetically.
I turn around to face him.
"It's ok" I say and then I start to kiss him.
"You doing anything tonight?" He asks.
"No" I simply say.
"Why don't you come over to my place?" He says while his hand drifts down my body.
"Ok" I say.
He brakes away from me.
"I'll see you tonight at nine sexy" he smiles at me and then exits the room.
I lean back against the wall and sigh heavily.
'What have I gotten myself into?'

I begin to walk down the hall when I heard that voice. The voice I long to hear all the time. I look around and see him. Tai Kamiya. He stops short a few steps of me and smiles. I smile back.
"Hey Matt" he says.
I nod at him.
"Listen, we haven't done anything in ages so do you want to come over to my place this Friday? We can watch TV or play video games or something."
My face lights up. I think he notices.
"Sure. That would be great" I say.
"Great come over whenever your ready."
"Ok sure. I'll be there" I inform him.
"I gotta go to football practice. I'll see ya after lunch" Tai began to walk away.
"K see ya" I say slightly disappointed that we couldn't have lunch together.

I see a little figure resting against the chestnut tree. I recognize it to be Kari. As I get closer I notice that she is scribbling in her note book while trying to down her sandwich and apple. As I approach I snap a twig and she looks up.
"Hey, I've been looking for you" I greet her.
"Ah, just the guy I wanted to see" Kari smiles.
I sit down cross-legged in front of her.
"What ya doing?" I ask.
"Finishing my homework" she answers.
"How come you were looking for me?"
"Well TK, I wanted to ask you to come over tonight so we can watch a video or something. My parents will be out" she explains to me.
"Ok sure. I'll be there at seven" I say excitedly.
'Yes! I might get to talk to Tai!' I think happily to myself.

Wednesday night

I lazily flicked around the channels watching the clock getting nearer and nearer to TK's arrival time. I finally hear the doorbell and get up. I notice Tai jump at the sound and he looks at his watch.
"Relax, it's only TK."
"You invited him over tonight?" He asks.
"Yeah, why?" I ask wondering what the problem is.
"Nothing" he says.
I shrug my shoulders and answer the door.
"Hey TK, come on in."
"Hey Kari" he says as he steps in.
I lead him into the sitting room.
"Hey TK" Tai says.
"Hey Tai" TK smiles at him.
"So, what are you kids up to tonight?" Tai asks.
I noticed that TK frowned when he said kids. I guess he doesn't like to be called that.
"We were just going to watch a video."
"Oh ok, well Mimi is coming over at nine. We have to study for Maths" he informs us.
"So, you'll have time to watch one video with us" TK pipes up.
"Yeah I guess."
We all settle down to watch a video.

At about nine o'clock the doorbell goes again. I get up to answer it this time. I open the door to see Mimi. My Mimi. I let her in and take her bag from her.
"TK and Kari are here" I say quickly when I see her advancing towards me.
She frowns and the slaps my ass before going in to say hi to TK and Kari.
"Hi guys!" She says cheerfully.
"Hey Mimi" they both say.
"Eh come on Mimi. We better start studying" I say gently pulling her away.
"Ok" she says.

"Did you get it?"

Ding dong.
"Ok I'm coming. I'm coming" I sigh to myself as I reach the door.
I open the door to reveal a very sad looking Sora.
"Sora, what's the matter?" I ask concerned.
"Oh Izzy! I feel terrible."
I lead Sora inside and sit her down on the couch. I kneel in front of her and look at her.
"What happened?" I ask.
"I'm so sorry about all this. I just didn't know who to turn to" she explains.
"Well you can turn to me" I inform her.
She smiles.
"Tell me what's bothering you" I prompt her.
"It's Tai" she blurts out.
I immediately feel jealous. I wish Sora was going out with me, not that stuck-up pussy.
"Go on" I say.
"I think he's cheating on me" she whispers while a tear escapes her eye.

"Oh Izzy, you must think I'm terrible thinking that way about my boyfriend with no proper proof."
"Well what proof do you have?" I ask trying to find out all the information to make a proper judgement.

Just then I felt Sora's arms encircle me. There goes the thunder bolts again is the first thought that comes into my mind. She turns me around. Wednesday night

I hear the doorbell and slightly groan because I have to get up from my comfy couch to get the door. I pace down the hall and open the door. TK walks in looking somewhat shocked.
"Hey TK" I say.
"Hey Matt" he says glumly.
I close the door and walk back to the couch. While I relax back into my comfy spot I notice that TK is staring at me.
"What?" I ask.
He sits down on the couch across from me and fidgets uneasily. I wait for a reply. He clears his throat.

"Well about two hours after I arrived Mimi came to study with Tai."
"With you so far."
"Well, Kari asked me to go to Tai's room to get a CD. I knocked on the door but the music was so loud they didn't hear me so I opened the door and..." He pauses.
"And" I say raising my eyebrow.
He takes a deep breath.
"And I saw Tai and Mimi fucking."
"Your not serious!" I say in disbelief.
"I wish I wasn't. That's why I left a little bit earlier. I had to tell someone and I didn't want to risk blabbing it out to Kari! I just had to tell you because your his best friend and you know how I feel about him."
I look back at my little brother shocked at what he has just told me. I shake my head.

"Ok TK I gotta level with you."
Now it's his turn to look confused.
"I feel the same way about Tai as you."
His mouth falls open. The room is filled with an eerie silence.
"Why didn't you tell me on Monday?" He finally brakes the silence.
"I don't know" I say while putting my hand through my hair. "I guess at the time I just wanted to focus on you. I wanted to try to help you not me." I try to explain to him.
"Well I guess I can't blame you for feeling that way about him! Geez that's like four people in the past week he has pinning over him! How many do you think there are, that we don't know about?"
We both laugh. I guess you have to laugh in these situations. It's the only thing that keeps you sane. We both stop laughing and I look at TK.
"TK, this isn't fair on Sora. She's the one who's going to get hurt here."
"Yeah, you're right. But what can we do?" TK asks.
"I'm not sure. I mean, Tai's my best friend. I'm going to see him on Friday, so I'll think of something by then" I suggest.
TK seems to accept it. He nods in response.
"Well I better go. It's late and I have school tomorrow" TK says getting up to leave.
We walk to the front door in silence.
"I'll see you tomorrow TK. Bye."
"Bye Matt" TK waves.
I close the door after him and go back to the couch.
'What the hell do I do now?' I ask myself.
I think about Tai until sleep washes over me.
