I thought this fic up one Sunday morning, while I was laying in bed, Taito daydreaming. I thought it was cute and decided to write it down. I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed dreaming it.
DISCLAIMER: this just kills the mood, doesn’t it? I don’t own Digimon adventures nor do I own the characters. So don’t sue me. Please? I’m only doing this for my personal and sadistic pleasure.
Here’s the fic you came to read.
Little addy: I made Matt’s mom look like a bitch because I needed one of his parents to be bitchy, and I’ve already made his dad look like a total jerk. Plus, why would he have gone to live with his father?

“Yamato? Why don’t you go off and play? You’re old enough to go off on your own. Just don’t lose us. You know what to do if you do? Good.”
Matt walked off. He heard his
dad scold his mother. Soon it would be over. She didn’t like him. He would be
living with his father. His brother would live with his mother. He loved his
brother, but since he was born, his mother didn’t care any more.
He looked around for a
familiar face. He knew it was unlikely, but he tried. He didn’t want to stay on
his own. He couldn’t see anyone he knew. A family left, thus bringing down
their shade down. He saw a face he really didn’t want to see. He had gotten
into a fight with him because he said blondes were stupid. He sighed. He really
didn’t want to stay alone... He walked up.
“Great! You again! Whaddya
want this time Ishida?”
“Talk. I’m bored, and I’m
on my own.”
“You’re just gonna mock me.
“Now why would I do that
Yagami?”
“Because I’m not allowed to
get out of the shade.”
“Why not?”
“I got sun burnt.”
“Oh. My mom sent me off.”
“How come?”
“She doesn’t love me.”
“Why d’ya think that?”
“I just know. So, d’ya mind
if I stick with you for a bit Taichi?”
“Nah.”
When Taichi’s parents came
back, they found their son on the middle of a talk with Yamato. They thought it
was nice of him to keep Taichi company.
“Aren’t your parents going
to be worried Yamato?”
“No. They sent me off.”
“Where are they?”
“Over...”
But he couldn’t see them.
They’d left without him...
“Where?”
Matt was silent.
“Where are you staying?
We’ll bring you home.”
“At that vacation spot near
the forest.”
“We’re staying there too.
Come on, let’s get you home.”
The Yagamis drove up and parked.
Then Taichi’s father followed Taichi and Yamato, who had an excellent sense of
orientation, despite him only being 7. They rung at the front door.
“Hel.. Yamato!”
“You left without him,
sir.” Taichi’s dad said.
“What? But Nancy told me...
I’m going to have to talk to her... Thank you very much mister?...”
“Yagami. And this is my
son, Taichi.”
“Hi Yamato’s dad!” Taichi
said enthusiastically.
“Hello there. Right, well,
I’m in the middle of cooking dinner. Feel free to come over whenever you feel
like it. And thank you so much for bringing back Yamato.”
“Right. Good bye. Come on
Taichi.”
“Bye Taichi!” Yamato said.
“Call me Tai.”
“Okay. You can call me
Matt.”
“Bye Matt!”
“Wanna go play tomorrow?”
“Can I dad?” Tai asked.
“Okay.”
“I’ll come get ya at 11
tomorrow, okay Matt?”
“Okay. Bye.”
Matt closed the door. He
heard his father talking to his mother. He sounded furious.
“You told me he was playing
with the neighbor! You left him on the beach! I go home to cook dinner and you
just leave him?”
Yamato closed his door.
Soon it would be over. He lay down on his bed. He had his own room because his
mother was sleeping with Takeru. His father didn’t want him to sleep on the
couch, so he left him the extra bedroom.
He thought about Taichi.
Tai. He had been right to go over to him. He was a great person...
He was pulled out of his
reverie by TK who came in crying because their parents were fighting again. He
took him in his arms and comforted him until the smaller blonde fell asleep. He
too fell asleep soon after.
The next morning, he woke
up at 9. Takeru was gone. Another 2 hours until Tai came to get him. He spent
those 2 hours reading the book his father had given him on his last birthday.
There was a knock at the
door. Matt jumped up and opened the door. It was Tai. He took a step closer a
hugged Matt.
“Hey Matt!”
“Hi Tai. How’s your
sunburn?”
“Better, much better
thanks. How’re you?”
“I’m okay.”
“C’mon let’s go!”
“Dad! I’m leaving!”
“Have fun son.” His dad
replied.
Tai and Matt walked over to
the playground and sat down on the swings. Tai took Matt’s hand and looked him
in the eyes.
“I’m really glad we became
friends Matt. I really enjoy spending time with you.”
“And I like spending time
with you Tai-chan.”
They both smiled at each
other. Tai squeezed Matt’s hand.
“C’mon, let’s go walk round
the pool.”
Tai let go of Matt’s hand.
They both walked in a companiable silence. At the pool, two bigger kids were
running, and the pair were in the middle. Tai jumped out of the way, but Matt
was pushed into the pool. Tai kneeled down and helped Matt out of the pool.
“Matt? You ok?”
Matt sputtered and coughed.
“C’mon, let’s go sit in the
forest.”
They walked to the forest
and climbed a tree. They sat on the same branch. Matt rested his head on Tai’s
shoulder. Tai wrapped his arms round the blonde’s waist and kissed his
forehead.
“You ok now Matt?”
“Yeah I’m okay.”
They sat there talking
until it was time for them to go. Tai walked Matt home.
“I’ll see ya tomorrow then Yama-chan.”
Tai said.
“Yeah, see ya Tai-chan.”
Tai hugged Matt one last
time and kissed his cheek before he was gone.
“Bye Matt. Sweet dreams.”
Matt walked to his room in
a happy daze. He collapsed on his bed and sighed happily. For the second night
in a row, he fell asleep without dinner.
He woke up in the middle of
the night feeling horribly cold and warm and nauseous at the same time. He
stumbled over to the bathroom in the dark. He sat down in front of the toilet
and waited. And waited. And waited. Until he was sick. He heard his father
waking up.
“Matt? Are you okay son?
I’ll get you a glass of water.”
He took the water in his
mouth and spat it out to get rid of the disgusting taste. He threw up again.
His father took the trembling boy in his arms and attempted to soothe him.
Finally, he felt like he wasn’t going to throw up any more. His father took him
back to his room and put a bucket near by, just in case. He saw his door open.
“Daddy? What’s wrong with
Oniichan?”
“He’s not feeling too good.”
“What’s wrong Matt?”
“I don’t feel well.”
“I’ll stay with you Niichan
so daddy can get some rest.”
“Thanks TK.” said his
father and brother.
Matt was up part of the
night because he was sick. Each time TK tried to make him feel better. He got him
a bottle of water. It wasn’t cold, but Matt didn’t care.
Around 4 AM, he managed to
fall asleep. TK followed him shortly, after putting his small arms round his
brother.
He was woken up at 11 by
the door bell.
“I’m sorry Taichi, Matt
can’t come out, he’s sick.” He heard his father say.
“Can I see him sir?”
“I’ll go ask.”
His father came in.
“You’re up? Um... Taichi’s
here. Do you want to see him?”
“That’d be nice. Can I
dad?”
“I’ll bring him in.”
A few moments later he
heard his friend come in.
“Matt? What’s wrong with
you? Are you okay?”
Matt shook his head.
“I feel hot and cold at the
same time, and I feel nauseous.”
“I’ll be right back then.”
He heard his father ask
what Tai wanted.
“Do you have a thermo... thernomono... thernomometer? I
want to take Matt’s temperature.”
There was a silence.
“Thank you sir.”
He saw Tai come back in.
“Open up. I’m the doctor
and I’m going to take your temperature.”
After 3 endless minutes,
Tai took the thermometer.
“Mister Ishida?”
His dad came in.
“Is that good or bad?”
“Holy shit! 104! We’re
going to the hospital!”
Tai was asked to go home,
but Matt asked him to drop by later.
Some time later, Matt was laying
in his hospital bed, looking at the door. It opened and his father said he had
a visitor. It was Tai.
Tai went up and kneeled in
front of Matt. He brought their foreheads together.
“I was so worried. How are
you Matt?
“I dunno.”
“That’s better.”
Matt smiled. Tai brought
their faces together and started stroking Matt’s hair while they talked.
Unfortunately Tai had to go, because his parents wanted to go to the beach.
Both of their younger siblings had become great friends. Tai kissed Matt’s
cheek again before leaving. All parents except Matt’s mother thought it was
cute.
Matt had to leave early
because of his condition. He was barely able to say good bye to Tai. He didn’t
have enough time to give him his new address. Tai had hugged him close and told
him that he would find him wherever he lived. He kissed his lips softly and
Matt had to go. He cried himself to sleep.
As soon as they got home,
his mother threw him and his father out. Matt hated his life. He wasn’t the
cheerful person he was before. He started brooding. Until...
