Her mother is very taken with tradition, so much so that it's ruined her and her daughter's relationship. She disowned Netamu a year after the divorce, after catching her kissing another girl. Netamu hates her, and is jealous of Yuki for getting all her attention. Keishi Takouno, her father. She loves her dad, but she doesn't get to spend nearly enough time with him. He's a failed writer, and he's been an alcoholic ever since Asuru left him. He's still deeply in love with her and will never be able to get over her. He treasures Netamu more than Yuki because Yuki looks too much like Asuru and it causes him pain to see him. Nekkyou Kafuu, her grandmother. Nekkyou is a little on the crazy side. Her little brother died by falling down a staircase and she's been crazy ever since. She's constantly telling Netamu to take care of Yuki, in case of an accident. Though Netamu loves her, she can't be comfortable around her because she has to be the adult of the pair. History : Though they are twins, Netamu and Yuki were born an hour apart, making Netamu a day older. It also makes her the older sibling, something she's never been allowed to forget. While her parents were still married, it was a stormy relationship. Her father would write all day, taking very few braks and eating less. Then Asuru would come home from a school meeting or something and begin to harp on everything from how the children were hungry to how the roof needed mending. They'd argue for hours and hours, at top volume. Netamu didn't want Yuki to have to deal with that, so she'd take him up to their room and pretend to be happy. She'd listen to everything he had to say, and they'd play together. They grew to be more than twins, they were close friends. Her parents would be arguing, but she'd go to see his Air Soccer games, and he'd watch her dance and Aqua Skate. Yuki never knew about the fighting because of her intervention. Then, when they were 8, their parents got divorced. During the legal frenzy, Yuki and Netamu were sent to live with their grandmother, a recluse, in her old house. That same year, Yuki went through the hardest ordeal of his young life. He discovered his sexuality while the boy he loved lay dying in his arms. He never bore any resentment towards anybody about the accident, and he never cried. Late at night, he'd tell Netamu about his dreams, where the boy was still alive and what they'd be able to do together. Netamu hated the world for hurting him, when she'd tried so hard to protect him. Every night, with every story, she got more and more angry at the world. She grew angry at Yuki for being so happy despite what had been done to him. She hated her mother for abandoning her. She hated everyone for forcing her to be the adult all the time. She started to get "punkish." She died her hair and started wearing different clothes, and she started to wear her shades all the time. It was then that she also began to experiment with her sexuality. One night, Yuki invited Faye, his best friend, over. They started to play Truth or Dare. Somewhere in the game, Faye was dared to kiss Netamu. They started to kiss innocently at first, but they both began to explore and the kiss deepened. It wasn't that either girl bore any semblance of attraction to the other, they were both just trying to figure romance out. Asuru walked in on the kiss, and she disowned Netamu on the spot. She vowed never to return to the house as long as Netamu lived in it, and she'd only see Yuki when she called for him at her house. It was the last straw between an already tense relationship, and now mother and daughter hate each other, and neither will ever forgive the other. |
